January Beauty Faves

I have shared a bit on stories recently about how January is a blur for me- after the excitement and build up for the holidays, I come crashing down instead of celebrating the New Year. No more decorations, no more glam red lipstick, back to the basics.

I wanted to share a few new products and a few “old faithful” products that might help you refresh your makeup look to start 2021 on the right foot. People always say “If you look good, you feel good” and I tend to agree. I type this as I sit here with my winged liner, hair that has been fixed in days, the same yoga pants as yesterday and a sweatshirt… but hey, a little makeup makes me feel good! I am all about a 5 minute face, but sometimes adding a fun new product can make your routine feel refreshed.

PILLOW TALK SHIMMER

This Charlotte Tilbury product is a new favorite. It is a long-wear gel to powder eyeshadow in their signature Pillow Talk shade. It is lightweight and long-wear- perfect for a little pop of shimmer that will last all day.

LIQUID LINER

I have been loving a winged eyeliner lately and this Too Faced Better Than S*x waterproof liner is really easy to use. I did an IGTV tutorial recently demonstrating how to achieve a cat eye eyeliner look- it definitely takes a bit of practice, but makes such a statement.

LID PRIMER

You all know my love for the Mac painterly paint pot– this product is perfect for priming the lid before building your eyeshadow on top. You can use either a brush or your finger to apply this product- if you use your finger, be mindful of using clean hands and replacing this product after a few months!

BROW POWER

If 2020 taught me anything, it was to keep it simple. This Hourglass brow gel is so easy to apply, adds pigment, and tames your brows for full, fluffy eyebrows to frame your face. I love a brow gel because it is easy to apply- for a busy mama like me, I am all about easy swaps to get ready in a hurry.

FRESH SCENTS

I have always loved perfumes- I am sure we can all remember going in to a department store and getting samples of Marc Jacobs Daisy and Clinique Happy. I love trying new scents and adding to the collection of beautiful bottles on my vanity.

The Chloe Ea de Perfume Spray has always been a favorite of mine. It is so feminine and floral (if you love the smell of peonies, this is for you). My newest favorite is the Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne– this woodsy scent is the best for winter- the perfect balance of earthy sage and nostalgic sea salt. It smells like a day at the beach in a bottle!

MUST HAVE MASCARA

Did you know you should replace your mascara every 3-4 months? Because of bacteria buildup, it is necessary to replace eye products frequently to avoid getting harmful bacteria in your eye. Starting the beginning of the year with a fresh tube of my tried and true Roller Lash is the best feeling!

COSMETIC CASE
