I can’t believe we’re halfway through July – where has the summer gone? I seriously cannot get over how quickly time passes. To be honest, this summer has been a challenge. I’m SO incredibly thankful to be able to have a flexible schedule, which allows me to be with the kiddos a good amount of time, but the coordinating sitters with work and trying to balance some big business changes and a move has been a whirlwind and overwhelming. Again, not complaining, but restructuring my focus during the day, which used just to be just ‘work,’ clients and managing my business has become a huge shift with the kiddos, a few changes and a move! Our word of the summer is, “surviving” and our phrase of the summer is, “surviving, not thriving.” That’s why I’ve been a little quiet on the blog and Instagram. Trying not to wish the summer away by any means, but I am looking forward to finding the balance and our groove a little more.
Wanted to glance back to June. Henry had his preschool graduation, and we were fortunate enough to have my mom and brother travel in for that (we haven’t seen them in 18 months!)… way too much time had passed. On Friday morning after Henry’s graduation, we packed the cars and went to Carolina Beach for two nights. You can see more from that trip HERE.
In mid-June, we went to North Georgia to visit John’s family for three nights. We celebrated his parents 70th birthdays! Such a wonderful time away!
Both short little trips, but nice to escape reality and unpacking boxes! Next Saturday (eeekkk!!!) we leave for our big family vacation. We do one family vacation a year usually, which the exception of some of those little weekends away with extended family. We’re so excited to go to Amelia Island again… I think this is our sixth or seventh year in a row spending the summer there. I’ve never been anywhere for more than seven days, but we decided to extend the trip this year so we’ll be there for ten days… I’m still trying to convince the hubs to squeeze an extra day in there. Henry’s last bash before Kindergarten! 😉
Anyways, major picture dump! But this is what our June looked like!
This picture is probably one of my all time favorite pictures! We are so thankful for this little guy!

Unpacking and Oli found the box of winter accessories!
This was also a special month, because one of my dearest friends got married and I was able to do her makeup and hair!
I got my hair done, but looking for a change! What should I do? I keep going lighter and lighter because of all of my gray, but I’m having to get it done so often!
I’m so in LOVE with this concealer with SPF 50! Pretty much what I’ve worn all summer long! Most days, I’m in a hat and oversized sunglasses, but the two of those don’t completely shield the sun. Over the years, I’ve developed sunspots around my eyes. You know the peekaboo area around the opening of your sunglasses at the outer corner of your eyes? The sun seeps in right there, no matter how big my sunglasses are and it’s just drenched the skin and has left me with a good amount of damage.
I’ve been extremely cautious about really applying my sunscreen in that area and reapplying. I started using this concealer (which I love!) to help combat my exposure to those harsh rays. This concealer brightens the entire eye area and it’s a beautiful, full coverage color-correcting eye cream, anti-aging skincare, and SPF 50+ UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen all in one!
Let’s talk coverage! It’s not as full coverage as Tarte Shape Tape or Too Faced Born This Way, but it’s more coverage than Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Away Concealer and Nars Radiant Cream. To be completely transparent, I disliked IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye concealer – so I was extremely skeptical before trying this product, but I was in search of a good product with SPF. It brightens the under eyes and a good full coverage, but this product does not cake around the eyes and blends into the skin flawlessly!
This product was developed with plastic surgeons and combined optical-blurring pigments with hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, colloidal oatmeal, aloe, silk, peptides, and antioxidants.
Shop the concealer HERE – I’m color “Fair”.
