I’ve shared how I’m doing everything to restore my long locks after I was hit with hormonal hair loss. I want my healthy, thick hair back again! One thing I’ve learned in my quest to restore my hair is that my hair (or hair in general) requires detox. While it’s good not to wash and use heated tools every day, it’s also not good to let product buildup from the environment, dry shampoos, hair sprays, etc. to sit on the scalp.
Disclosure: this is a sponsored post in collaboration with Ulta and they have allowed me to share the haircare that I have been using by Living Proof.
Detox Shampoo
The Living Living Proof Perfect hair Day (PhD) Triple Detox Shampoo from Ulta is excellent for absorbing deep-rooted impurities beyond what a standard shampoo can clean. It is especially good for the scalp because it targets impurities at the root of the hair that can clog the hair follicle and cause scalp issues. When your hair follicles are clogged from debris, it makes growth a lot difficult.
This shampoo is great for color treated hair as it will not strip away color and it’s very gentle on the hair. In addition, the activated charcoal absorbs excess oils from your hair and scalp. Scalp moisturizing and soothing complex (includes witch hazel extract) balances hydration and forms a lipid layer to reinforce the scalp’s natural barrier, and has a soothing effect on the scalp.
It is ideal for all hair types. It’s silicone-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, cruelty-free, color safe and safe for chemically treated hair.
Conditioner
For a while now I’ve been using the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Conditioner. It’s a weightless conditioner that helps deliver beautiful healthy looking hair by improving its appearance over time.
It’s powered by LivingProof’s patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA), which in this formula does four things: smooths hair, polishes and protects strands, creates visibly healthier hair over time and helps repel dirt and oil to keep hair cleaner, longer. It is silicone-free, paraben-free and phthalate-free and cruelty-free. Color safe and safe for chemically treated hair.
By using these two products together, I’ve been able to go longer between washes and use less dry shampoo! I still add a pump of castor oil into my shampoo as well, however, I’ve only been adding that a couple times a week (not with every wash).
