Hi friends,
I’m taking things back to January!
A few things that I don’t think I’ve mentioned on the blog… I started teaming up with Carolina Bride as their wardrobe stylist back in November or so. January marked my first issue with the magazine. I seriously love it! I pick pretty clothes that make sense for the issue/ article from stores that I typically don’t shop at and walk away with thousands of dollars… and days later have to return (that’s the boo). Of course I make sure to touch on price points that budget shoppers like me go for. I still go by the motto; “it’ll go on sale”. When I receive the images back from the photographer, I get to layout the pages in Photoshop and then send onto the mag. It’s seriously fun and makes me feel a little Zoe like.
For this issue, it was all about the engagement phase of your relationship… how to dress for those between season months (January through April). All of you southern brides feel me, right? Typically too warm for winter clothes, but still too cold to shed the layers. So, below, you’ll see my resolutions for those tricky seasons.
First spread — what to wear to a couples shower, without being total cheese and matching your beau! You can see how it’s the perfect “cross between” winter and spring, right? And… hello to those booties right, too bad my bunions hated them.
Second spread — my absolute favorite. I crave bright-bold colors after the holidays… I’m sure you are too, but you’re also too scared to embrace the POC’s because it’s still winter. Here’s the perfect blend (well, perfect in my opinion)… take those spring like trends and cover with fur (faux of course!), blazers, vests… whatever the layer may be. Paint on those sheer tights, step in those heels and voila… perfect attire for your bridal shower.
More to come!
