Confession!
Feel free to chime in!
With my new body (and babe) comes new changes. Rounder face, wider hips, thighs (thighs! thighs! thighs!), larger chest, pooch and arms… bigger arms. I’m incredibly insecure about my arms these days. I know that as women, we are all so hard on ourselves. These new changes don’t just happen when you get the big fat positive. After marrying the hubs who lives off of red wine and pizza I easily put on a good 5 (eeehhhhh 8 lbs). Once I started fertility meds and that number just continued to go up.
Trying to figure out how to dress the bod isn’t something new. It’s been a work in progress. As much as I absolutely LOVE growing this little nugget, it’s also testing my “fashion sense”. Lately, every time I look in the mirror I’m blinded by my chest (these suckers EACH take up an entire zip code) and not only am I drawn to my chest, but my new and approved rounded arms (with a side of cellulite). You heard right… I have cellulite on my arms. I still workout daily, lift weights, run… however… I guess this is one of those things that comes with over indulging in an extra side of carb with every meal. Note: carbs are not my side (I lied), carbs are my meals. Every-single-one-of-them. Proud of it too. Bam!
You see my issues, yes?
I can work on my pipes, lift the weights and try to tone for the next 6 months (which I’m sure I’ll do) or I can figure out how to deal with the problem area. Problem solved… sleeve dresses (stat). For some odd reason, it’s been a challenge finding dresses this time of year with sleeves. So, I’m falling back on an all time fav, Zara. Nope, not a maternity store, but I’ll buy 2 sizes too big — hope and pray that they will work for the days to come! They are too cute and they should work with a bump… assuming this rump doesn’t grow (too much).
A good classic flowy maxi and baggy shirt. You will find me wearing LOTS of these and if you’re out and about shopping and run across a cute dress with some dandy sleeves… help a sister out and tell me about it.
