I went back through my blog and realized that I didn’t post too much about our personal life. Exactly why I love Instagram though (and always guilty of #overgramming)… but IT IS the easiest way to journal your life. So, I thought I’d do a little “best of” 2015 post (mostly from Insta – some very personal ones obv. did not make insta)! Last year was so good to our family… nothing crazy or exciting happened. Just wonderful clients and amazing family + friend time.
I can’t believe it’s 2016… it’s hard to believe that I’m entering my 7th year in business. That our son celebrated 3 New Years’ with us. Where does the time go???
Xo and Happy 2016!
ps: This is another long, long, (verrrrry) long post! Feel free to scroll on past it if you’re just looking for beauty inspo.
+++++++
January 2015: Detoxing and soaking up a slower wedding season and lots of Henry time. Henry got his Joovy Tricycoo (and Joovy Noodle Helmet) for Christmas 2014, so we spent a lot of outdoor time, bundled up, and cycling around our neighborhood.
Henry’s coat from Zara OR similar coat from Gap
February 2015: Parents trip to Jamaica with 2 of our favorite couples. A much needed trip away from the norm.
My sunglasses + hat
March 2015: Henry’s first haircut!
April 2015: We had a family shoot in our home with one of my sweet friends, (and talented photographers) Allison Kuhn Photography. We also celebrated and hosted Easter.
May 2015: This was a fun month! Henry and I spent almost every late afternoon on the front porch… blowing bubbles, listing to music, side walk chalk drawing… waiting for daddy to come home. We spent Memorial Day weekend with Henry’s best friend (and one of mine) at the lake. Our neighborhood pool opened. BUT the icing on the cake was taking Henry on his first trip to Charleston (our favorite place). I had one shoot that I had to beautify and I was also gifted a personal family shoot (I’ll share more of those later).
June 2015: Another big month for us. Father’s Day, Hubby’s birthday and family beach trip to Hilton Head.
July 2015: No traveling, but still a busy month for weddings.
It’s also no secret, my hubby isn’t #almost40 getting younger (I am though ;)) and we want more kids… but unfortunately, I’ve been faced with some poor working ovaries. We celebrated July 4th in and out of the fertility clinic trying to make Henry a big brother. We’ve been at our amazing clinic for awhile now and there’s been many of times when the little man had to tag along… which makes bloodwork and ultrasounds quite interesting! The evening of July 4th, we had a neighborhood parade and the kiddos decorated their “floats”. Another month of no new baby… but we have high hopes that God will answer prayers in 2016.
The day after our procedure, we had a shoot at our house for South Park Magazine (I’ll post more on that later). We also spent a lot of July at the pool with friends or at Discovery Place Kids (in the air conditioning)! We also gave Henry an early birthday present, a mini golf cart… so he could use it during the warmer months since his bday is in December.
August 2015: Henry enjoyed playing golf with Daddy in the months leading up to August. I also learned how to hit a few and got my own set of clubs. I can’t believe I’m saying this… but there were several times where I wanted to play golf!
It was another busy month for weddings, one of which took the fam back to our favorite spot, Charleston.
The last weekend of August and first weekend of September we spent in Amelia Island for a little family vacay!
September 2015: Lots of traveling for weddings and then the hubby and I scooted away to Charleston to celebrate 6 years of marriage. Henry continued to make us laugh. We went to Disney On Ice and apple pickin’. I ordered wallpaper for our powder bath (more on that later) and got to see one of my favorites, McKenna Bleu.
My sunglasses + Henry’s slide
October 2015: Awwww! Such a fun month. Henry discovered that he loved football and soccer, so we spent lots of afternoons outside at the park. We also celebrated Halloween at Henry’s school with a costume parade and a little party at our place.
November 2015: We celebrated Thanksgiving in Atlanta with my hubby’s family. While we were there we ventured to Centennial Park and played around outside. We also picked out a Christmas tree and decorated it!
December 2015: Henry TURNED TWO (more on that later) and we celebrated Christmas (more on that post here)! We enjoyed dinner out with friends and I enjoyed one last nap of the year with my favorite two year old.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, FRIENDS! I cannot wait to see what 2016 has in store for us and you! Lots of love and lots of posts to catch up on… thanks for reading! Next up… 2016 goals!
