I hope everyone else is as excited as I am for Halloween this year! I never really got excited about Halloween until the kiddos came along, but now I live for a family costume and all the cheesy decorations! I love any opportunity to dress up and decorate- anything to get me through the months leading up to Christmas aka the flocking happiest time of the year!
This year we went all out with the Halloween decor- both inside and outside the house! I am all about the balance between seasonal decor and spooky elements (everyone remembers Oli’s “special friend” aka zombie in the front yard from Halloween last year) – as much as I’d love my house to look like a fall Pottery Barn catalog, I have 2 kiddos and making the house fun for them comes first! Gotta let them be little!
Every Halloween since Henry was a baby we host a little party for the kids and adults. We all trick-or-treat and then come back for chili, cocktails, a fire, hot toddy’s, separating candy! It’s one of my favorite evenings of the year and I cannot WAIT for this year!

I’m not decorating for Halloween just yet… still have to hang our bats, get pumpkins, etc… but here is a look inside our home so far! I’ll make sure to update pictures once we’re done with the decorating!

I’m in love with these sizzle sticks/ cocktail stirrers that I recently got from Amazon!

Our new friends! Does anyone have name suggestions? (skeletons) We’re still busy decorating for Halloween with the kiddos (we take this very serious, lol!), but once we’re finished with the inside and outside I’ll make sure to post final pictures! š Here’s our progress (both indoors and outdoors).

Halloween Over The Years

Halloween 2014
Sweet baby Henry as a duck! He was 10 months here and walking… I’ll never forget watching him waddle up to the front doors with neighbors’ kiddos. We might have only been to 5 homes, but it was SO much fun and those memories will forever be engraved into my mind and heart!

Halloween 2015
Sweet Dino Henry! We got his costume from HomeGoods and he loved it so much!

Halloween 2016
I LOVED the Superhero phase and miss it so much! Spidy Henry in 2016 and I was very pregnant… we still had our big Halloween party this year too and I wore my medical-grade compression socks, lol!

Halloween 2017
Toy Story and this might be my favorite of all! Olive was 9 months old here and Henry was 3-1/2. Life was so sweet and we still had our Halloween party!

Halloween 2018
Loved dressing like Peter Pan! Henry went through a big Peter Pan phase and we loved every single bit of this costume!

Halloween 2019
In 2019 we went as a flock of flamingos and a zookeeper! We moved this year too and so a new and exciting year of trick-or-treating and our Halloween party!

Our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween… cul-de-sac parties, Halloweenie breakfasts, cul-de-sac fire pits! I can’t wait to do it all again this year!
What should we be this year?! Leave a suggestion in the comments! xo LRT
How did you mount those skeletons on the exterior of your house? I would LOVE to do this but Iām afraid of damaging something when hanging them.
