February Recap

I don’t know about y’all, but the warm weather this week made me feel like a new person and life is starting to feel a little more normal.  January hit me hard – nothing was wrong, everything was (is!!!) fine and I have more than enough to be thankful for… but I was just in a funk.  I shared my feelings in this blog post about the high from the holidays and when January 1st arrives it literally smacks you in the face!  You’re supposed to be this new person.  With a laundry list of goals.  A new mindset around heath and wellness. To be honest with you… January felt like a dark hole.  Maybe it’s because the kiddos were still out of school, weddings were still being cancelled, it just felt like the 2020 all over again. Not too mention, cold, gray and rainy.   I’m a sunshine person – I like the light, I long for long summer days, flip-flops, kids playing in the yard and a ice cold margarita.  I’m happy to say that after this last week here in Charlotte life is starting to feel normal again – and there was LOTS of sunshine. Henry is back in school 2 days a week and it has brought so much joy to our house!  He missed his friends and teachers so much. We are so thankful for our school community & teachers.   Earlier this month we ventured to Cashiers, NC – we just needed to get away!  We found the most adorable place tucked in the mountains with a beautiful pond for fishing.  We made chili, took the kiddos tubing, watched movies, fished, put together puzzles and had some good wine!  We had the best time with our little family!  This past weekend kicked off a crazy stretch of weddings so while my weekdays are filled with Swan Beauty, clients (shoots, trials etc.) my weekends will now consist of weddings.  Hope y’all are doing well and enjoying a bit of sunshine! xx LRT

On February 18th Henry started school back up – 2 days a week.

February really picked up and it feels SO GOOD to have clients back in my chair for makeup and hair!

LOVE this new top that I got from Anthropologie and these are the same sunglasses that I got over a year ago (they’ve held up so well and $65). Here are some similar shoes too.

In Swan Beauty news… we were featured on the local news twice in the month of February which was super exciting! Henry and Oli thought it was cool that they made the segment too!
