Over the weekend I did a little DIY! I was so inspired by this indoor herb garden that I saw a few weeks ago, I decided to recreate one of my very own! Super easy and I cannot believe how much a little greenery has changed our kitchen! Totally upped that ‘homey’ game! Now, I need to put these delicious herbs to use and get to cooking!
Olive girl loves helping mommy water the fresh herbs. So far, she hasn’t attacked the pretty plants!
She’s using this precious mister-watering-can.
I decided to use clay pots, which will allow the herbs to dry out between watering and prevent overly wet roots as most herbs aren’t tolerant of soggy root conditions. Make sure when you’re watering, you’re doing so in the morning or earlier part at night.
I decided to plant rosemary, thyme, basil, cilantro, and oregano. All of these herbs we often cook with and are pretty easy to keep alive. The cilantro might take a little more TLC and I might move it outdoors here and there, but overall, I think they’ll be pretty easy to maintain.
Obsessed with these herb markers!
Olive at work! Goodness, I love this girl!

So, I used a fake plant here! It’s from IKEA and I pulled it out of the black pot it came in and placed it in this adorable blue and white marble tumbler. I knew I would be pushing my luck if I put a real plant down there (not naming any names… OLIVE).
