Holiday Gatherigs with Diet Coke

For those who know me, know that I bleed Christmas (and the holidays)!  I have my entire life.  There’s something about October through December that I absolutely love.  The togetherness, the joy, the giving, the gatherings.  Both of my children were born in December, in fact, I share a birthday with my son and on Christmas day of last year, we were released from the hospital with our little blessing, Olive.

Over the years, the gift of “things” has quickly transitioned into the gift of “time” and “togetherness”.  While I enjoy the rush of the holiday season and purchasing the perfect gift for a loved one – I also cherish the quiet, intimate settings… just like this one that my sweet friend, Summer over at Simple Stylings hosted over the most beautiful lunch with Diet Coke.

Truly, these are the moments that I love about the holidays… taking some quiet moments to soak up the new and old friendships that have made an impact on my life.  The holiday rush will overwhelm you, but I love how Summer kept this lunch simple, easy, beautiful and tasty.  Which made it SO enjoyable for our small crowd.

– Adorable disposable plates, flatware, and napkins were used which made cleanup extremely easy. 

– She used pre-made items from speciality grocery stores, rather than slaving over a stove all morning.  Believe me, it was all so tasty.  

– I love how she used a scarf as a table runner and bunched together flowers from the grocery store.  

– She made a Diet Coke-Apple Cider specialty cocktail, which was brewing on the stove top and smelled amazing! 

This was the perfect gathering that kicked off my holiday festivities and a good reminder of what the holidays truly mean… togetherness!
