On Saturday we left the kiddos with my in-laws and the hubby and I took a quick 24-hour trip to Asheville. This short trip was a good one and much needed. We left our home at 8:45am and touring Biltmore by 11:00am (one of my favorite places to visit in the fall). I’m more drawn to the beautiful gardens and landscaping than the actual interior of the home. However, my love for architecture and the history of architecture is still one of the many reasons that I can visit this place over and over again! What I’m trying to say is that I can do without going inside of the actual house, lol… but gimme the exterior, gardens, views and winery all day long… THE most beautiful French Renaissance inspired Chateau.
After exploring Biltmore we headed over to Grove Park Inn. We sat outside for what felt like hours just people watching, talking and cocktailing.
That ceiling though! Maybe the Biltmore started the herringbone tile trend?! lols… but maybe! I have such a love and appreciation for details like that and historic architecture. Takes me back to my design days and how history has such an influence even on the most modern space.
I was excited to try a few cocktails at Grove Park Inn… and skip dinner time, bath time and bedtime duties!
My handsome hubby at dinner! We had an 8:00pm dinner reservation at Grove Park Inn and sat there for almost 2 hours enjoying dinner! It was delish!
Best 24 hours I’ve had in a long time!
