The mamaRoo has hands down become one of our favorite baby products. One that we unfortunately didn’t have with our firstborn son. Olive has adapted so well to the 5 natural and unique motions and speeds that this swing provides; car-ride, kangaroo, tree-swing, rock-a-bye and wave. It also has 4 built in sounds and is MP3 and bluetooth compatible to control motion and sound from your phone.
Olive spends a lot time time being loved on by her big brother while in the swing. We love that the swing is eye-level with our 3 year old… so when Olive needs a little attention, Henry is right there with her to give her a little kiss and the paci. This mama loves that she can control the sound and speed with her iPhone! Makes mom’ing so much easier! The swing doesn’t just put her right to sleep, we also use the mamaRoo as an activity for her. Half of the time that she spends in the mamaRoo, she sits in the swing, listens to music and looks at the black & white plush toy mobile (that is reversible to color once her vision begins to change). Since newborns can only focus their eyes on object 8-12 includes from them, the mamaRoos’ mobile is designed to remain at that distance from their face… which can also be adjusted as the baby grows.
Why does this mama love it so much?! Well, not only because it suits the needs of our baby (and calms her!), but it’s also aesthetically pleasing and light weight. When Henry was a baby we owned a huge, bulky swing. A swing that he flipped out of when he was 8 weeks old (yikes!). It took up a lot of real-estate in our home and was too big to constantly move around the home. 4moms’ products are designed with baby, mommy and aesthetics in mind (and baby’s safety – you won’t find Olive flipping out of this swing). The mamaRoo is low to the ground, petite in size, yet big enough for a 25 pound baby. The monotone color doesn’t take away from the interior of your home, unless you choose to reverse the fabric and liven it up a bit. I love that I can easily relocate the mamaRoo as needed from room to room, which we do several times a day. I can easily transport if from the bedroom, to the kitchen, to the living room and sometimes upstairs during her brothers’ bath-time.
Olive has been using the mamaRoo + infant insert for about 6 weeks now and it’s been a ‘baby item’ that we can’t live without!
Plus, how cute does she look in it!? And how adorable is it that her brother can give her a little brotherly-love!? Melt!
Next up on my 4moms list is the Breeze Play Yard.

Car Ride: A figure eight on its side. This was my younger tester baby’s favorite. The slow setting was a bit too slow. We found setting 3 was perfect.
Kangaroo: Lots of up-and-down, less side-to-side. Even at it’s fastest setting [speed 5] older tester baby got bored with this setting.
Ocean Wave: Big round circles. Another favorite. This time both young and old tester baby loved this setting very much.
Rock-A-Bye: Low on the sides, high in the middle. Both young and old tester baby liked Rock-A-Bye but older baby seemed to like it a bit more, especially on speed 4-5.
Tree Swing: Opposite of Rock-A-Bye, Tree Swing is high on the sides, low in the middle.
