ONE
Can we just talk about my cute little bear. He’s survived three Charlotte snow storms now. Not a huge fan of the cold, boots or anything for that matter. I’ve got more of a summer boy on my hands. We started the day with a 4:45am wake up call by him. Yes, you heard that right… moms chime in if you have advice. After giving us about 20 months of 13 uninterrupted hours of sleep, we’ve taken a downward fall. Last night he was up at 2am and for good at 4:45am… we’ve literally tried it all. Altering his bedtime, changing his routine (bath before dinner for example), we’ve gone to the doctors, allowed him to watch a show before bed, read books before bed, CIO, every method known to man… if you have any ideas, we are all ears. Or if you know of an amazing pediatric sleep therapist, please let us know.
In the meantime… he’s two and I know that everything is a phase. He’s not throwing grocery store fits anymore… and for the most part getting in the car and going to school tantrums have stopped (hopefully I don’t jinx that). So, I’ll happily take the sleepless nights if it means I don’t have to deal with that at the moment. However, the little monster needs his beauty sleep.
Last night before bed I made the mistake of telling him that “it’s going to snow tomorrow and when it does we can build a snowman with James (his bff)”. This morning, at 2am, Henry starts screaming, “I go play with James in snowman, mommy…. wake up, mommy” through the monitor. Over and over and over again, until I got up into his room. I was able to get him back down, but at 4:45am, he’s up and there’s no stopping him, “I go see James, mommy”.

Ok, ladies! How do I stay out of Target? It’s just off the charts right now. I was in there twice on Thursday and left with wayyyy too much that I entered the store for (naturally). A few weeks ago I picked up these bedside task lamps for Henry’s room ($29)… Pottery Barn Kids and Resto had similar ones for over $130. I also got this galvanized tub to store the overflowing book collection too.
How adorable, inexpensive and easy is this storage solution? Using these (great price) wire baskets to suspend from a simple peg/ hook wall shelf.
I’m on the prowl from a bar cart. I found a few on One Kings Lane and one that I absolutely loved at Slate, but it was sold before I could get home to measure. Then, I saw a bunch in Target and you cannot beat their prices. I’m loving this one – the picture online is awful, but it’s super cute in person.
Here’s a few of my Tarjay finds!

If you follow me on SnapChat (lindseyrthorne), this is no surprise. We are in love with Dusty our Dustbuster. This puppy is so powerful and light enough for my 25 month old to fetch it for Mommy. We have one for downstairs and upstairs. It’s a 15.6 volt cordless bundle of love. Linked his cute little buns up here on Amazon Prime for $32.99.

In need of CLEAN eating recipes! PLEASE SHARE! I can’t do any grains or diary. I tend to stick to lean proteins and veggies… but I’m so over grilled chicken breast, 1/2 sweet potato and some sort of veggie for every single meal. I think I’ve also overdone the lettuce wraps. I know there’s some Betty’s out there, so I’d love to hear how you keep you and your family healthy.
I’m almost a month in with the cleanse (same one that I did to lose the last 14lbs of my baby weight last year). It’s so good, y’all. It’s not just the weight, but the energy that I’ve gained back is beyond what I ever imagined. Our sleep… well… as I mentioned above, we don’t sleep too much with our little man. Some days I’m even starting clients at 5am. I try to get a 6 mile run in or a class at Orange Theory. I don’t stop, so to have this energy back – and weight loss! Ahhhh!
I’ll keep it real… I enjoy margs, chips and dip and a whole lot of vino. With the holidays, I put on some lbs! Pretty excited to see this little dress fit again!
