Ok, so I’m really late on posting my 35th week survey, because TODAY (11/14) I’m FULL TERM @ 37 weeks!
Dear John Henry,
Hey little man… this week you are still hanging strong at 6lbs! I cannot believe you went from a poppy seed to a 6lbs little person. Your kicks, punches, jabs are more intense and more powerful. Wow, you are a strong little guy. This week we hit the one month mark from your due date. According to the doctors, we are due on 12/5, but according to actual dates I’m due on 12/7, my birthday. As much as I want you here early, I would love to share my birthday with you. I can’t stop picturing how you’ll make your grand appearance… Daddy thinks that I will naturally go into labor with you in the middle of the night. My doctor is on call the weekend of my birthday, 12/6, 12/7, 12/8 and we discussed the possibility of being induced if you aren’t already here.
So much excitement!!!
We love you, little man.
All my love,
Mommy
First things first: Henry’s first Christmas present. Here it is. I get that he can’t ride on it for months… well, it says 1+ years.
Size of babe: A large cantaloupe!! 19-22″ and 6lbs!
Weight gain: According to the doc’s scale I’m up 33.2lbs (up .04 from last week), BUT according to my scale I’m up 37.2lbs.
Birthing process update: We did it! We completed the breastfeeding class and infant CPR without too many laughs! 🙂 Both were actually really good and informative! So glad we decided to take those.
My belly is starting to get tighter. I’m getting some crazy cramps and I can’t tell if it’s Braxton Hicks or the baby moving. It’s hard to tell the difference between the two now. The jabs that I can make out are super powerful, wow this little boy is crazy.
I’m excited to find out what the doc has to say at my next appointment!!!
Maternity clothes: Let’s be real…
Gender: John Henry Thorne… our sweet little Henry!
Nursery: Thanks for all of your input! 🙂 Sooooo helpful! My heart is still stuck on the original mirror… but I don’t think by $217 more. I ordered the bedding, just in time because Resto had their 20% off Friend and Family sale. I took the wallpaper, fabrics, etc. up to the baby’s room and looked at it all together. The more I thought of it, the more I liked the white skirt and white bumper with the accent sheet. There’s going to be so much blue in the room from the wallpaper and ginormous rug.
I made my way (still in search for a mirror) to Hobby Lobby this week and purchased lots of adorable odds and ends for the nursery. I also got “Merry Christmas” blocks that I’ll put in his nursery with a stocking! 🙂
We also purchased the shelving from IKEA!
The actual bedding shown on the crib that we have (except our crib is off white). We’ll do the blue + white chevron sheet though.
Nursery Finishes (that’s not the actual skirt/ bumper fabric).
Similar roman shades, ours will have a little valance at the top.
Movement: Lots! Lots! Lots! BUT the movement is starting to feel a lot different. Kicks and jabs are almost painful.
Sleep: Sunday evening/ morning I didn’t sleep a wink on Sunday evening and had to be up at 5am for a photoshoot on Monday. It was rough. HOWEVER, the rest of the week, I slept great. The only thing that work me up was to use the bathroom. It did scare me a little though, because I’m so used to feeling him throughout the night. I guess I can’t win. 🙂
What I miss: It’s definitely hard getting comfortable. In the past, I’ve taken something as simple as laying on the sofa for granted. Whew, is it getting harder to get comfortable. Other than that, I think if you asked me this question in a few weeks, I’ll tell you that I’m going to miss his kicks. I love the mystery of not knowing him/ meeting him/ seeing him yet, but having this crazy connection with him. I will miss that.
Best moment this week: Sunday was great. John and I started our day with a walk. We then went to Starbucks and got sugar free peppermint mochas and then ran lot of errands. Ikea to buy the baby’s shelving, World Market in search of a mirror, appliance shopping and grocery shopping. It was a great day.
Here I am appliance shopping… spent a good hour in this recliner while the hubs tested out tv’s and sound bars.
This week also marked OUR ONE MONTH until the little man is here… and a sweet email from my hubby. We are SO excited, words cannot even explain! We cry a lot… happy tears, excited tears… we cannot wait!
The other best moment was seeing the progress on our house.
Looking forward to: Some days off in the near future… specifically a spa day before the baby comes. I decided to treat myself to a prenatal massage, facial, mani pedi and possibly a blowout after my work schedule slows down. A celebration!
ALSO – since we are a month away from DD, I’ll tell you that I’m excited to be in the hospital, surrounded by wonderful nursers who cater to your every need.
Cravings: Same old… I haven’t had a wedge salad in a few weeks. Cookies and ice cream have been ammmmmazing. I’m not craving another crazy… maybe coffee’s (decaf of course)… sugar free peppermint mochas. Every morning I feel the urge to get a $3.50 grande from Starbucks. I made the mistake by ordering a regular this past week and he was kicking me so hard I thought he was going to pop my water.
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks, cramps, down near my hips I’m starting to get really sore… Funny because this was also a symptom that I read on the What To Expect app. I’ll still go with cellulite, shortness of breath and Charley Horses, insomnia.
Workouts: Walking (whew!!!) getting harder. Did a few, but shortening them to 4-5 miles. Although on Sunday, I think we did 6.
