I’ve been stewing about this nursery forever now. It doesn’t help that we’re not in our house yet, so I’ve been forced 😉 to do nothing on it. I’m also a ridiculous perfectionist and I can’t believe I went to school and spent 8 years of my past life as an interior designer. This little nursery was hard for me to picture and put together. Mainly because I always envisioned a WHITE (imagine that) nursery, but I want to be good to my little man and give him a little bit of color.
My hubby loves seersucker so that’s where the blue and white wallpaper stems from… the rest just kinda fell into place. I’ve had that crib since I was 8 weeks pregnant. Nothing like jumping the gun! LOL’s!
So, here’s where we stand with the nursery… still not sold on the rug situation… before it was a little too monochromatic with the baby blue so we decided to spice it up with the navy.
Ok, if you’re reading this 🙂 chime in (please!) and let me know which rug you like better! xo
Rug 2 Option!
I’m using these Ikea shelves to create a bench (I’ll have a cushion made for the top), to create the looks below. Basically the bench (the image directly above, 1 unit shelf, we will turn it horizontally and lay on the ground) will be in the middle and the shelving will be flanking the bench on either side. If that makes sense.
There was one thing that I always wanted in a nursery and that’s good old fashioned roman shades.
Sarah, one of my dear bests gifted me window treatments. We’re going to do a white embroidered ikat fabric and then use a denim as the banding around. Similar to this image.
So, this is where I stood awhile ago, until I decided to change up the rug.
