Should have posted my 31st week last Thursday… This Thursday I turn 33 weeks! Craziness! Dear John Henry,
We’re getting so close and so excited to meet your sweet face! Your Daddy and I talk about you all the time… it’s a little obsessive. I love you so much already and I can’t imagine how that love will grow once you are here… I just can’t wait. I’m trying my hardest to enjoy these last couple of weeks… because soon you’ll be in my arms and as much as I want you there, I know I’ll miss your kicks. We know we’ll be in the house for our first Christmas together and your Daddy keeps saying that he’s just going to cry… and cry… and cry! Our very first Christmas in our house with our precious baby… almost feels unreal. I’m so grateful for everything and the road that’s led us to where we will be come December. I’ve never felt so calm and so content. I love you, our little man.
Counting down the days with love,
Mommy
Size of babe: A head of lettuce! 19″ and 3.9lbs! <– seriously almost 4lbs!
Weight gain: According to my at home scale I’ve gained 32.6lbs (up 0.6lbs from last week), but according to doctors scale it’s 28.6lbs. As MUCH as I want to go with the doctors scale, I should probably go with my scale.
Maternity clothes: Me + maternity clothes = BFF!
Gender: John Henry Thorne… our little soccer player, whew this boy likes to kick me in the ribs!
Nursery: Here’s the nursery, but Johnny is meeting the wallpaper installer at the house this weekend so we find out how much this room is going to cost us to wallpaper. I found the rolls online for pretty reasonable, so fingers crossed.
Movement: Lots and lots of movement, which is good… but sometimes I’m scared that he’s (mommy’s out there are gonna laugh) going to pop my water. They are so hard and so intense. He’s almost dropped lower so I feel like his head (????) is bouncing on my bladder. I also haven’t mentioned this… baby gets hiccups ALL THE TIME and it’s been going on for awhile now!
Sleep: Whew, Nelly! I have this thing that What To Expect explains as “insomnia” which happens to 75% of third-trimester preggo women. It’s hit me hard. Thank GOD for Pinterest and Instagram… Facebook is to hard to read that late at night/ early in the morning. Around 4am I’ve been making (poor hubby) change sides of the bed with me. Don’t ask. Also, I’ve been tapping out at around 4-5 trips to the bathroom in the middle of the night. PLUS the little man likes to perform his karate moves. By 2-3pm I’m ready for a nap… and typically that’s when my day is revved up with makeup + hair for sunset photo shoots.
What I miss: Enough with being able to run… and/ or my old legs or arms. Right now, I miss being able to breath and sit comfortably.
Best moment this week: Sounds crazy… but this past week was one of my busiest weeks. So getting through that and the anticipation leading up to that was wonderful. I also, figured out the furniture situation in our living room and I’m loving it. It took me awhile to nail it all down, but now that I have, I can visualize and makes me so much more excited for our family of three.
Looking forward to: Honestly, finding out our closing date, which should be next week. Going to the mountains over the weekend of the 18th. Nesting more… installing carseats, etc.
Cravings: PUMPKIN CANDY CORN. Soft pretzels and cheese (yikes!), I might crave it, but I try not to eat it that often. One craving I don’t think I’ve mentioned is sprinkle/ shredded parmesan cheese… I can kill it! Wedge salads… my GOSH, I cannot get enough. Other cravings… Oddly enough I’m loving the smell of gasoline, individual lash glue, sharpie markers, fresh cut grass… It’s weird.
Symptoms: Man on man… I’m chafed between my thigh and my thighs rubbing together… I’ll still go with cellulite, shortness of breath and Charley Horses!
Workouts: It was a little harder to work out this past week b/c of my schedule… I did 3 different 5-6 mile walks and 1 Group Power class.
