*read our journey here + how it happened here*Dear Baby Henry,
Hey buddy! Such a good, busy week together! Your punches, jabs and kicks keep me so excited and it makes me even more excited to meet my future soccer player (you!!!). I think about you often… ok, every-single-second-of-every-single-day. You’re all I think about… what you’ll look like, how big (or little) you will be, what kind of baby you’ll be, will you love your mommy… I think about if Daddy and I will be good at this parent role, we think we will be! It’s so much fun imagining you.
On Saturday you and I did some shopping… I’m pretty excited about the prepster you’re going to be!
So much love my little son. Daddy and I love you so, so much!
All my heart,
Mommy
Weight gain: Gained a little weight over the past 2 weeks (I didn’t weigh in last week)… 22 weeks = 20lbs! According What To Expect by 18 weeks I should have gained 16lbs. I’m 4 weeks past that 18 week mark and at 20lbs so that seems right on… 😉 or at least that’s how I’m justifying it. I’m eating healthy, with the occasional french fry and sweet treat.
Maternity clothes: Went to Target and purchased a few new workout items. I can’t believe how Target is replicating Lulu! Go Target… and about a 60% price decrease.
Gender: John Henry Thorne… Confession, my sister made me think twice (thanks Lex) about his name. She said she can’t not call him “John Henry”, two names together. She loves the way it sounds. Our little boy is being named after Johnny’s (my hubby’s) grandfather who he very much looked up to. Sooooo… do we call him John Henry or just Henry? They both sound good and gentleman’esque to me! 🙂
Nursery: Notta, work has taken front seat this week. I’ll hop back to this in the weeks to come.
Movement: All the time and I love it… gives me relief, that I know our little son is in there growing. I love watching my belly move and boy does he have some strong limbs. I just can’t get over how much movement and the strength that I’m feeling. Insane!
Sleep: Still getting up in the wee hours to use the bathroom and sometimes paranoid because I keep finding myself on my back when I wake up.
What I miss: This week went by so fast that I didn’t have a chance to miss anything!
Best moment this week: On Saturday (tax free weekend) I finally slipped away for a little shopping… for my son of course! 😉 Went to Gap and Janie & Jack… went a little nuts is an understatement, but I did get (most) everything on sale! It was the best 2 hours! This kid… whew… let’s just say, I hope he can wear every single thread that I’ve purchased. I’m trying not to regret my purchases, but little boy newborn to 12 month clothing is just too cute!
Looking forward to: Honestly, looking forward to him!!! I just can’t wait!
Cravings: Nothing too crazy… other than the most amazing salad EVER. Hubs has been doing crisp romaine that he chops up, ear of corn on the cob (shaved), Fuji apple, parmesan shredded cheese, shredded carrots, bacon on the stovetop (omg! bacon!) with pomegranate dressing. It’s amazing! He’s also serves it with a side of shrimpies that he sautés in the pan. Amazing. We literally ate that like 3x this week. I like the romaine that you chop up b/c it’s wayyyyy more crispy, and y’all know my turn off with wilted lettuce. Yuck!
I’ll take a sugar cookie with hard icing too!
For the most part, it feels AMAZING to be craving foods like salads that I did before… just feels good to not have those terrible aversions anymore and love the foods that I used to!
Symptoms: Cellulite and heartburn! Does this mean our kid has hair?!?!
Workouts: Back at it this week after vacation… lots of runs, walks and Group Power classes.
