I’m so excited to team up with the AMAZING, Terra Bailey for her famous Merry Lot shoot. View her shoot booklet HERE (it’s so awesome!).
Not only is she photographing our family this year, but she asked that I design and provide style boards for families to mimic. This time of the year is by far my favorite when it comes to fashion. Simply because, you can layer!
I know finding the perfect outfit can be a bit stressful, but don’t let those anxious feelings hold you down. Have fun with all of this!
First thing that I want to stress is that pulling wardrobe for your family does not need to be expensive. Use these style boards as a basic guide to help you get a little creative. I encourage all of my clients to get into their closets to see what they can pull from. Mix and match patterns, textures and accessories to tell your families story and express your personal style.
Mixing in patterns is an easy way to make your photos a fun, add a little color into the mix and they become magical.
Styling doesn’t need to be expensive. I know when your styling a family, price tags and totals can creep up there… quickly! Go to stores like Target, Sears, Old Navy, Marshall’s, Amazon, etc. Again, look in your closet and take inventory of what you already own. Use tools like Pinterest to help guide you.
I think what makes holiday photos so “Holiday’ish” is when you layer! layer! layer! Pull in layers that don’t necessarily match. Have fun and remember to get creative! xo
