It’s a GIRL

Can you hear me screaming?!  I’m going to have a daughter, Henry’s going to have a sister and Daddy is in big trouble!!  Bring on all the pink, floral and everything else girly… and I’ve officially lost any sort of queen status in our household.

Henry was right all along.  He knew he was meant to be a big brother to a little sister.  Can I tell you how crazy a child’s intuition is?!  He told his teachers and one of our neighbors that he has a baby sister in mommy’s belly.  This was several weeks before finding out the gender.  The weeks leading up to our IVF transfer he prayed for a baby sister at bedtime (if you follow me on snapchat, I’m sure you remember some of these videos).  Unfortunately, we won’t be naming her Anna (from Frozen) at Henry’s request, but we have a super cute name picked out that I’m excited to share.

We found out at my 12-1/2 week maternal fetal scan.  Being the type-A personality that I am… I did my research (google) to learn that the “nub” has formed by 12 weeks and you can get a good idea of the gender.  So, when I presented this to my doctor, he of course laughed and said 80% a girl.  I then called my nurse at REACH and she was able to confirm the that the genetics of the embryo was in fact a girl.

We’re over the moon and I tear up thinking about (omg!) Henry coming to the hospital to hold his sweet baby sister for the first time.

In other news… notice what’s in Henry’s hand in the last picture.  The kid is obsessed with my ovulation predictor tests (and tampons).  In fact, yesterday, I was going through his book bag to find that stick.  LOL’s!  He say’s it’s his power-super-hero-sword.

We love you all and can’t thank you enough for the outpour of love that you continue to share with our growing family!  It truly means the world to us!
