If you’ve been following me for any length of time, or have taken a makeup class with me then you know my love for all things iT Cosmetics. It’s a line that has been in both my personal and professional kit for years and I love the way their color foundations finish and treat the skin!
I’m partnering with Sephora to share a foundation of my choice this month and I decided to focus in on one of iT Cosmetics ‘Your Skin But Better Foundation’ I wanted to share a foundation for those of you who are experiencing this shift in your skin condition this time of year. As we transition into the cooler months of fall and winter and our skin begins to change… mine always looks dull, dehydrated and dry.
This foundation delivers hydration to the complexion making it look healthier and more radiant. It’s buildable with a light to medium coverage, but since it’s buildable you’re able to get that full coverage foundation look without the heavy, caky, drying, settling into fine lines. A key ingredient in this foundation is Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera which instantly hydrates and visibly smooth skin which is KEY during the cooler months. Hepe Acid gentle exfoliates and vitamin E and B5 which will help fight free radicals to support the barrier of the skin.
Amino acid coating preserves the longevity of color and helps to prevent the appearance of oxidation. There’s also a micro-fine pearl powder in the foundation which provides a natural, yet radiant finish.
As far as application goes, I do think this applies better with a brush, however a makeup sponge or your fingertips work great too. What I love about iT Cosmetics is the amount of color shades they include in all of their products. This particular foundation has 40 shades. Sephora has a great foundation finder which will take the brand and color of your current foundation and match you to this new foundation. It’s called their “Shade Finder” and it can be found on their website right above the color swatches. For a good rule of thumb, here’s another rule of thumb in finding our if you’re Cool (C), Neutral (N) or Warm (W).
Cool (C): Skin Hue: Red or pink | Veins: Blue or purple | Sun: Burns easily
Neutral (N): Skin Hue: Balance of yellow and pink | Veins: Blue & green | Sun: Tans slightly
Warm (W): Skin Hue: Yellow, peach or gold | Veins: Green | Sun: Tans easily
For color reference, I’m in shade Light Neutral.
