At the end of the year, I took a poll asking random beauty questions from my audience. One of the questions was, “What’s your favorite foundation?” and SEVERAL answered with this Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation. I purchased before the new year and have successfully tested it out for a solid month, and I have to say – it’s as impressive as everyone said.
Sephora is allowing me to share a new product that I’ve never really shared before and a brand crush… so I’m dedicating this post to Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation!

I have the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation in my kit and I swatched two different colors. Top shade (what I personally wear) is shade 280 Bisque W and 140 Ivoire N.

WHAT IS IT?
Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation is an oil-free foundation, long-wearing, and it delivers buildable coverage with a natural matte finish. Not too heavy, not to light – an ideal medium to full coverage foundation. It’s velvety in texture, so it almost feels weightless and lasts all day – Lancome claims it lasts for 24 hours. Not too glowy, not too matte – I would say a demi-glow effect. It’s suitable for anyone with normal, dry, combo, oily skin, and if you have discoloration or redness – this has a beautiful way of covering up!
It doesn’t illuminate pores, and I find that this often happens with a lot of full coverage foundations. I’ve added a few colors into my professional kit as well because of the claim of being “transfer-proof,” and guess what… it really is transfer-proof! I just love the longevity of the product – hours upon hours! It does have SPF, however, non-comedogenic, which is ideal for those who are acne-prone.
For reference – I’m in shade 280 Bisque W.

PREP + APPLY
Moisturize: As always, with most full coverage foundations, skin prep is crutial. Moisturizing the face and eye area will help prep the skin for any foundation. This just ensures the foundation glides on and sits beautifully on the surface, rather than sinking into those pesky pores and fine lines.
Prime: You know my love for a good primer. Primers just extend the life of the makeup. Primers are the ensure that the moisturizer and foundation adhere to each other without illuminating skin imperfections like large pores and fine lines.
Apply: It applies seamlessly with a brush, finger, or sponge. My preferred method is to apply with my fingers and then buff into place with a sponge. Rule of thumb: fingers and brush will always provide you with a full coverage look. A damp sponge will give more of a luminous finish and kill some of the pigment. I like the in-between so I apply with my fingers first and then go in with a damp sponge.

A few others from the brand that I’ve used in the past.

Artliner Precision Point EyeLiner – this is a smudge-proof and richly pigmented eyeliner that has a clean and precise application in satin finish. Great for the winged liner application!

Monsieur Big Mascara – another fan fave in Sephora. I tested it, I loved it, I bought it! What I liked about this one was the volume that it added to my lashes and it’s a 24 hour wear mascara.

La Base Pro Perfecting Makeup Primer – a lightweight, oil-free face primer that creates a smooth makeup base, absorbs quickly into the skin.
