Picked up this cute outfit from Madewell over the weekend and on sale! Never thought I’d be able to pull off wide-legged, high-rise pants!
We’re moving, and we closed on our current home and our new home last Friday! It hit me like a ton of bricks that we’re leaving a place that we made our home over five years ago! As excited as I am for a fresh start and change, I’ve truly loved our home. I love the memories that we’ve made here. We’re homebodies, and I cannot put into words how hard this is now hitting me! We’ve lived in and used every inch, and every inch has been filled with so much joy.
This is one of my favorite views… I’ll never forget building this home, and Henry was in my belly. As this area was being buildout, I remember saying to John that I couldn’t wait for the days when I would be standing in the kitchen, and my kiddos would be running through the back yard. A lot of memories have been made (just like any family would make) between these walls.
On Thursday we did a walk through of our new home we purchased! It’s not perfect and it’s in need of some major TLC, but we’re excited! I also finally fit into a pair of jeans that haven’t moved past my knees since October! So we’ll call that a win! 😉
The hubs and me outside in our new backyard! The yard is our favorite part of the house and we’re on a cul-de-sac!
One of the first projects is hardwoods. The upstairs of our new home was all carpet and there was some carpet in the downstairs too (living room) and on both sets of stairs. We are starting by ripping up all of the existing carpet, laying new hardwoods to match the existing and refinishing all of the hardwoods. The home is pretty dark, there’s not a lot of natural light – and y’all know I love some light and airy spaces. So, I’m tossing up the idea of going super light with the hardwood floors – similar to the middle color that is shown above!
On Thursday, Henry asked me to take a picture of him in his new crab pajamas and send it to our family. So I did! Also, I can’t believe I’m still trying to squeeze Henry in the Gap pajamas for little boys! They stop after 5T and he’s a 5T right now! I just love how sung they are!
On Friday we had an early closing and we were finished by noon so we scooted over to Hello Sailor for oysters and a celebratory cocktail… should have just gone home to pack, but we’ve had been through the ringer with the house, so we settled on celebrating!
I love oysters!
After oysters we went down to the dock and had a drink before heading home!
One thing I’ll miss the most about our home is our porch! Not that it’s anything special – it’s not and it’s on a busy street so half the time I’m a nervous wreck, but… it’s the porch that we’ve spent hours waiting for daddy to come home to. Everyday during the warmer months we have popsicles, we blow bubbles, we wave to the cars and the neighbors walking their dogs. I wasn’t expecting to be this emotional!
Hey
Lipstick or a popsicle?! 😉
I have a post coming soon – but I’m super excited about the launch of Supergoops! Sunnyscreen – sunscreen for babies and kids! It’s what I’ve been using on Henry and Olive.
I’ve been wearing my hear in a loose braid lately and I’ve been loving it! I’ve talked a lot recently about how I’m trying to really take care of my hair after some hormonal hair loss issues…. that all being said, I’m trying to wash it less, but not use a lot of dry shampoos. Instead of pulling it in a ponytail or clip all the time, I’ve been braiding! I’m also breaking out because I’m clearly 16 – not 36… <insert eye roll>
I’ve never used a fun handbag so much in my life! I normally don’t purchase bags like these because I know I’ll never use them… except this one! I use it all the time!
Morning snuggles with my Oli Girl.
Going to miss this house!
On Friday after we picked the kiddos up we went to Jetton Park to play on the beach and the playground before heading to Birkdale for ice-cream! We were all over the place on Friday, lol!
Henry and his handstands… they happen everywhere!
My jumpsuit is on sale – it’s actually pajamas, but I wear a t-shirt under and it doesn’t look like pajamas on.
Mother’s Day was sweet. We didn’t do anything crazy or out of the norm. I did wake up to Henry wishing me a Happy Mother’s Day… he’s the sweetest soul. He was SO excited for Mother’s Day!
I started the day with a 7:30am OTF class with my sister. Y’all she is a BEAST during an OTF workout! I can’t keep up. After the workout, they gave out orange roses to ALL of the women in the class, and I thought that was so special and kind. During our long road to our children, I had a hard time leaving the house on Mother’s Day… I was happy for all the sweet mama’s who deserved to be loved on, but I was also sad that I couldn’t experience their joy that I wanted so badly. I was just touched by OTF and how they honored all women during their walk of life… we’ve all mothered someone in our lives.
After the gym, I came home, and Henry tore through the few gifts for Mother’s Day… painted vase, handmade keychain, coffee mug, and new tote. Most of all Henry was excited to give me HAIR TIES! YUP! The kid who hated when I wore my hair up gave me hair ties! hahaha!
After that, I showered, got ready, John went to Lowe’s to get packing supplies. Played outside for a bit before lunch and Olive’s nap. While Oli napped, Henry and I played games. Then we wen’t to the park, had ice cream and watched movies! It was a good weekend!
Henry looks so grown here!
The way Henry spells “love” as “Luve” melts me and I don’t want to correct him! 🙂
We played Guess Who all.day.long and Henry hates losing, lol!
