We’ve been in our home for almost 3-1/2 years now and haven’t really done much to our front porch. I had some hanging plants that I killed and I have a front door mat. It’s about time I put some effort into the front of our home – which also includes working in the beds. They need a little TLC.
For some reason, I just can’t do color outside. I’m boring, I know. I just like the color to be brought in through the different flowers and plants. Maybe one pillow to add a little pop. Other than that, for the front of the house, I prefer classic neutrals.
Our front porch is long and narrow. I realllllly wanted a big porch swing, but with the size of our porch it’s not possible. We’ll end up doing something like this one seater swing. So cute, right?
We purchased rockers last year and I had those on the front porch, but they just got too busy up there. I’m thinking just a simple park bench will do the trick with a garden stool on one side. Love the idea of using rattan benches as a “coffee table” and they’re available in white, black and natural. The rug will be used outside of the front door and I’ll flank the door with those grey planters shown in grey or I absolutely LOVE this beige planter.
I’m excited to get this project started… or at least start by changing out the rug at the front door and planters.
