Last weekend my aunt and uncle from Omaha, Nebraska (where I was born and raised) flew into Charlotte to visit us. It was such a great long weekend with them and on Sunday we took the light rail into Uptown to watch a Knights baseball game.
I’m wearing a kimono (they hide the extra “fluff” and my go-to) AND Old Navy has my favorite white distressed jeans ($34) again this year (same as I’m wearing in this picture). They’re available in regular, tall and petite.

Saturday morning we were boiling and decorating eggs by 8am… I’m sure like most families! 😉
Friday was a different story… John was off of work, I didn’t have any clients and Henry didn’t have school. We drove to THREE different strawberry patches to do in-filed pickin’ and NONE of them were open for pickin’ yet. LOL’s… mom planning fail. But that hour and a half drive made for great naps and then we went to our favorite sushi restaurant in Birkdale, got ice cream and walked around a bit.
On Saturday afternoon I had lunch at Dean & Deluca Wine Bar with some of my favorite blogging ladies.

We had a good low-key Easter Sunday… I wish it involved going to church, but sadly, this year it didn’t. Next year! 🙁 Once Henry was up we did Easter baskets, which consisted of: a coloring book (we can go through some coloring books), new crayons, bubbles, SING (the new movie, we saw it in the theater and he loved it! Target had the DVD on sale for $10!), Paw Patrol toy, a new plate and bowl and his favorite pouches from Starbucks. Olive got a little toy tea set.

My Stepmother’s mom quilted that blanket that the kiddos are sitting on! So beautiful and special!
Easter baskets are from Pottery Barn Kids… probably just like every other kiddo in America.
Ready. Set. Sprint to the Easter Basket!
Little Bunnies are from HomeGoods – I think around $12 per bunny!
This is his $12 Rocky toy from Paw Patrol. This now completes his Paw Patrol collection… little man has been asking for this since Christmas!
That face though!
Doing a little egg hunt in the front yard… learned my lesson and only filled about half the eggs with ONE jelly bean, lol!
Normally I cook a big ol’ Easter brunch with John, but this year we decided to venture out. My sweet sister and her hubby joined us. It was low-key (zero meltdowns) and perfect!
We were home by noon, changed clothes and all went down for a nap.
Loving this t-shirt that I picked up from J.Crew (comes in a few colors and patterns too), on sale for $29. Super flattering and it can dress up any old pair of pants. Love that the sleeves are a little longer too… I can’t stand regular t’s when the sleeves get wadded up in my armpits, lol… but you know what I’m talking about. It’s available in white, pink and a blue and white stripe pattern.
I just finished my first bottle of Lash Boost and boy you can definitely see how long and thick they are in this picture. It works!
I’m also loving this little eyelet baby girl dress.
I talked about this book on my Insta-Stories (if you follow me on Instagram), Raising Grateful Kids In An Entitled World. One of the best books that I’ve read in a long time. Even if you don’t have children, I think it’s a great read. Literally flew through this book in less than 48 hours (thank you insomnia).
After every chapter they go into tips and strategies, called Going Against the Flow. It breaks it into action categories for: a.) Parents b.) Toddlers/ Preschoolers c.)Elementary d.)Tweens/ Teens
It’s a great book on raising children to be grateful, loving, godly, kind, responsible and appreciative.

One of my favorite updo’s from a wedding a few weekends ago!
If you don’t already have Shape Tape by Tarte (concealer), get you one now! BUT I’ll warn you, it’s popular and only sold at Tarte and Ulta. In my opinion, it puts NARS Radiant Cream Concealer to shame… and y’all know I’ve been using that product (and love it!) for years.
I’m using color Light Neutral. It’s SO popular that they won’t even allow makeup artists to use their discount on the product… and you’re only allowed to purchased 2 tubes at a time.
It’s the most beautiful, creamy concealer that allows for a radiant coverage and easy to also contour with as well. Also, vegan friendly!
Me in action at The Duke Mansion!
No words… this Soft Light Blurring Setting Powder by BECCA is unbelievable! I’ve posted about it on my Instagram! By far, my favorite powder to date.
More fun at the Knights baseball game and some Low Country boil!!!
Well, I don’t want to get all downer on y’all, but mama is desperate to get some time in the gym and start eating healthy again. Man it’s so hard… I’m exhausted 24/7, but I can’t sleep, I’m out of breath, nothing fits… but I just want to sit around all day and drink Diet Coke, eat Reese’s peanut butter cups, pizza and Cheetos. Makes total sense!
I can’t seem to get.it.together! I never struggled this bad and always loved physical activity and eating healthy. I’m in a MOM rut and I know y’all know what I’m talking about and going through. I know, I know, I know… GIVE MYSELF GRACE, I just had a baby and I’m SO blessed (I know all of this)… but I just want to feel better, I want to sleep, I want to button my big girl shorts… and I want to stop sweating, lol! I just want to keep up with my 3 year old crazy boy!
So… I’m putting my leggings on that give me the biggest muffin top and taking myself to bootcamp at 5:30am! Gotta get it in before the sun comes up. I literally set my alarm every.single.morning and press snooze 247293758710398102938541 times before it’s time for John to leave for work at 6:45am. How do y’all get up for a workout? What’s your motivation? This used to be so easy for me!
I’ve debated about sharing my postpartum weight loss with y’all…. I’m talkin’ before and after pictures and the struggle to lose weight as our hormones shift the older we get. Would y’all be interested?!
Last, but not least… sharing a few of my favorite under $100 items for the spring!
Love your life lately posts 🙂
I would love to follow your postpartum weight loss. I still need to firm up from being 14 months postpartum. The “weight” is gone, but my muscle tone is lacking. I’m loosely following an eating plan I used a couple of years ago before I got pregnant. You sorta have to keep track of your food and the macros in it, but it always works. I’ve also heard REALLY good things about WW and its new app.
Love!!!💗 Henry + Olive looked adorable on Easter 😘😘😘
