I think it’s been about a year since my last ‘Life Lately’ post… I was once religious about these posts – gave me something fun to reflect back on!
Lately, we’ve been busy… wrapping up wedding season in mid-November, celebrating the holidays, getting ready for the baby (I’ve come to realize that I’m not particularly good at the nesting ‘thing’), we’ve had family and family and family in town. It’s just been a busy two months.
I’m personally trying to soak up as much one-on-one time with Henry as I can… when he’s not being a threeanger. 😉 We’ve been spending most mornings in bed with breakfast and his Kindle Fire… making our way into school later than usual. I know I’ll never get these lazy mornings back, so I’m soaking them up!
Probably one of my favorite memories of 2016… Henry running in his first two races. John and I have been running together since the day we started dating, so it’s fun to experience this love with our son! Henry LOVED the two races that he’s ran in! In fact, since his races, he’s asked Daddy to go on runs with him… so they literally run the neighborhood together.
He’s not too shabby either… I’m proud of my little buddy, he completed his last race in 13 minutes! One mile in 13 minutes… that’s better than I can do at the moment, lol!
Also, John and I have committed to running the Corporate Cup Half Marathon on March 5th… which will give me about 6 weeks to train post baby! Yikes!
I will blog this soon, but my sweet friends, sister and sister in law threw Olive (and mommy) the most beautiful baby sprinkle!
I’ve never felt more blessed and loved!
I’ll share pictures soon!
My favorite time of the year – Christmas!!! By far my favorite Christmas tree we’ve ever had together! We bought a live flocked tree and have no regrets. Even the hubby loves it! We used half the lights and ornaments than in years past.
Literally cannot stop thinking about welcoming our daughter into this world! I’m more anxious than I ever was during Henry’s pregnancy… mainly because I want to get into a routine as a family of four. I’m so excited for Henry and Olive to meet and I’m just ready to get on with life, feeling better and a schedule with 2 kiddos. Annnnnnnd I really want to have her in 2016! We are so ready to meet our sweet baby!
My mom was in town over Henry’s birthday (my birthday too)… I’m sure some of you remember from our snaps, lol! We took Henry iceskating in uptown Charlotte one evening… he did 2 loops with my sister on the ice. We had so much fun!
One December 7th, we celebrated Henry’s 3rd birthday and my 34th birthday! How about that side-by-side image from his 2nd to his 3rd birthday! Tears! John and I took the day off to spend with him and celebrate. We decked out the kitchen with yellow balloons and streamers, ate cookies for breakfast and opened presents. Later that morning we took him to sit on Santa’s lap, went to my doctor appointment (I know, not fun for him, but took advantage of John having a day off of work since he can’t come to many appointments with me), had lunch at Cow Fish, went to the Lego store and stayed up way too late with Aunt Lex and Uncle Bruce! Such a fun day! Later that week we celebrated with his friends at the trampoline park!
On Wednesday, November 30th, I landed in the hospital and was released Friday, December 2nd in the evening! It was a painful and scary few days, but I’m so thankful that we were sent home to rest and wait for Olive to come on her own. I’m so thankful for my circle of friends who offered their helping hands without being asked. We’re truly blessed!
We spent Thanksgiving (after the Turkey Trot) in the comfort of our own home and in jammies! We celebrated as a family of three and it was so perfect!
That’s the quick and easy… life as you have it for now! Just waiting for our little lady to arrive and soaking up as much one-on-one time with Henry and enjoying the holidays!
Xo!
Ahhh such exciting times for the Thorne family! I can’t wait for baby Olive to arrive and to see Henry step into the big brother role 🙂 love you all to the moon! Xoxo!
