I know they all say that stretchies (dare we say the full word STRETCH MARKS) are “genetic”… maybe they are (???). When I was pregnant with Henry (and gained 45lbs), I proved my genetics wrong and left the pregnancy game with one happy stretchie.
My poor mom has terrible stretch marks – ones that didn’t fade and they literally left that ripples in her skin. I stayed on top of it when I was pregnant with Henry and applied 2-3 times per day. I did my research and found that The Spoiled Mama was everything bundled into a few cute jars… not to mention, toxin-free and organic!
Throughout Henry’s pregnancy I was religious with three products: belly butter, pregnancy stretch mark oil and an exfoliating sugar scrub.
Together, the belly butter and stretch mark oil will begin to promote elasticity and hydration in your skin. I at least applied this combination twice a day. In the shower, I exfoliated with their sugar scrub, which contains vitamins A, C and E to promote healthy skin from the inside out!
Once I started my IVF meds (for Olive’s pregnancy) I went through a rapid weight gain and during that time I wasn’t using any sort of stretchie prevention and of course, a few stretchies came out. The minute I got pregnant, I jumped back on the The Spoiled Mama bandwagon to prevent and remove.
I truly love their line and come back to it each and every time I’m ready for a refill. I have tried other high-end stretch mark lines, but this happens to be my favorite and what’s worked best for my body and skin. The Spoiled Mama is offering my readers 10% off with code: BEPRETTY10 (through end of day on 8/22/16).
Here’s what I’m doing today:
Sugar Scrub: As the ultimate shower treat, this sugar scrub for stretch marks buffs away dull, itchy skin and helps increase elasticity for all your growing bits. As the sugar dissolves, oils rich in essential fatty acids stay behind to lock in moisture and give you a dewy glow all day long.
Bump Gloss Oil: A unique blend of ten cold-pressed oils that adds major hydration and elasticity to your growing belly. Enhanced with vitamin E, this long-lasting oil for stretch marks is a fast-absorbing treatment rich with antioxidants and collagen-building components. Recommended for prevention against pregnancy and postpartum stretch marks.
Tummy Butter: A pure cocoa butter base is enhanced with 11 nourishing oils that include organic rosehip, tamanu & sea buckthorn. Rich in vitamins A & E and essential fatty acids, the belly butter helps promote collagen and increase cell regeneration for firmer, more youthful skin.
Remodel Stretch Mark Removal: Featuring retinol* hyaluronic acid and wheat germ oil, this wonder serum helps boost collagen and increase elasticity in skin. With it’s toxin-free ingredients, Remodel is the premiere spot treatment for pregnancy stretch marks removal and postpartum skin care. **When using, apply Remodel before other products, and upon clean, bare skin. Since it has a small molecular structure, this allows it to penetrate skin and do it’s magic.
ps… how cute is their packaging?
OMG momma you literally read my mind… been looking around for a good stretch mark prevention to start using. Are these the best you’ve found? Ordering them TODAY
You’ll love it! I honestly have tried about everything, but I swear my consistency with Spoiled Mama is the ONLY reason that I didn’t get ‘genetic’ stretch marks like my mama! I also mix in coco-butter too… I’ve tried Mama Mio, Mustela, Honest Co., Bio Oil and I just recently tried Basq… I still trust Spoiled Mama! Xo!
Do you use the Remodel Stretch Mark Removal during pregnancy as well? I know you mentioned that it has retinol which I know you are suppose to avoid during pregnancy. Wasn’t sure if that was just for postpartum use?
Hi Whitney!
That’s definitely a great question. While The Spoiled Mama’s Remodel stretch marks serum does contain retinol, it’s far below the quantity that would make it harmful to pregnant moms or babies.
The FDA has approved its use during pregnancy as long as the quantity applied doesn’t exceed 1.5 mg per day. Remodel contains only 0.5% retinol, which doesn’t exceed the recommended limit when used according to directions.
Thanks for the info Lindsey! That’s super helpful! I will have to remember this brand. I am not pregnant yet but I will be starting the IVF process soon! Love following you though your process!
XOXO
Thanks for introducing “the spoiled mama”. This is real helpful. I had my boy 2 years ago and the belly marks never disappear. I tried many products but the effects are minimal. i also started a blog to talk about the various products I tried. But I am going to give the above a try and see how it goes.
Have your tried trilastin before? I bought it and tried and have average result. I shared that in my blog. Thanks for sharing the above with us. I am going to try it.
