Happy Mother’s Day, friends! I hope your day was filled with lots of love and family time.
We had a great day together… it’s all about the little and simple things. Woke up to a clean kitchen, playroom, living room… basically the entire house. My hubby worked into the night picking up, so that I didn’t have to worry about the ‘to do’ list when I got up. The boys made me coffee and had 2 cards and 2 presents wrapped up on the counter. If there’s one thing my hubby knows about it, it’s that I love cards… long, detailed, handwritten cards… the ones that make you cry. Henry and Daddy painted a picture frame and gave me the cutest ring that says “Henry”.
By 10:30am, we were out the door and on the way to brunch at our favorite spot near us, North Harbor Club. They had the most delicious Mother’s Day brunch complete with blueberry cheesecake for all mama’s. There was a bit of a wait, so we walked around by the water. If you follow me on ‘the snap’, then none of this is news (lol – I oversnapped).
After brunch, we went home. Henry took a nice long nap while the hubby mowed the lawn. I ventured out by myself and went to my favorite nursery in Huntersville, Dearness Gardens. Never thought the words would come out of my mouth, but I love gardening. It’s so peaceful and beautiful. I picked up a new boxwood. Then made a quick stop by Homegoods.
The rest of the afternoon, we spent as a family outside. Hubby finished mowing, edging, blowing, etc… I pruned the rose bushes, planted my boxwood, pulled weeds (bags full), watered all the plants, captured a toad, released the toad, bubbles, every lawn toy imaginable… it was a long and good afternoon with the family, doing what I love best – spending time outside and in the yard.
Here’s what I wore to brunch. I’ve blogged about this dress in the past. I wish it was available in more than 2 patterns. It’s so easy and cool for the summer.
Hope you all had a wonderful day!
Lots of love! Xo!
