Get that glow

Good morning ladies!

I posted this image of a bride that I beautified yesterday and thought I’d follow it up with a post – “get yo glo on”.  Something about a dewy finish that makes a youthful, effortless look.

See below for the steps that I used to create this look.  Also, I think it’s important to point out that I didn’t use any powders or cream based foundations to contour or strobe… I just used a simple highlighter to create her glow.

Get Yo Glo On

Step #1:  Prep the skin by spraying two pumps of MAC Prep + Prime Mist.

Step #2: Apply a thin layer of Nars Illuminator over the entire face.

Step #3: Apply your foundation.

Step #4: Apply a finishing powder.  Any powder will do.  I used Nars Light Reflecting Pressed Powder.  There’s no color to this powder so it works well throughout the year.  You don’t have to change your powder as the seasons/ your complexion changes.

Step #5: Apply blush.  I swear by the Tarte’s 12-Hour Blush.  When I use heavy highlighters, I stay away from any blushes that have a shimmer.  The color that I’m using here is called “Dollface“.

Step #6: If you’ve been following my beauty posts on Instagram, then you know by now how much I love the Mineralize SkinFinish powders (used for highlighting) by MAC.  In step #6 I apply MAC Mineralize SkinFinish in color “Lightscape” to the apples of the apples of the check.  I also add this to the chin, cupids bow and a little at the bottom of the nose.

Step #7: I then add the same Mineralize SkinFinish as mentioned above, but in color “Soft & Gentle” to the cheek bone.

Step #8: Repeat Step #1 and add a few sprays of the MAC Prep + Prime Finishing Spray.
