Late again with posting, should have posted last Thursday when I ended my 32nd week! Entering my 34th week on Thursday of this week!
Hey little buddy! Can’t believe we’re one week closer to meeting you! You’re getting so big and your kicks are getting stronger and stronger. Ouch! I wouldn’t trade those love taps for anything in this world. I didn’t think it was possible to think about you more and more each day… but it is. You’re constantly on my mind and we can’t wait to meet you! Keep on cookin’, little man… only a few more weeks.
Love you big time,
Mommy
Size of babe: A honeydew! 19″ and 4.5lbs!
Weight gain: I had my doctors appointment at the end of my 32nd week. 29.6 lbs according to the doctors scale, WITH clothes on. 😉 AND my appointment was at 3pm, so I ate throughout the day. Don’t get to excited, LRT… according to my scale I’ve gained 33.6lbs.
Birthing process update: This is a new one that I’m adding. Baby has been and is head down/ face down. I’ve been having some braxton hicks. My doctor asked me about my “birthing plan”… I laughed. My plan is: 1.) give me an epidural asap 2.) get my baby out safe and sound
We also took class #1 (of 3) birthing classes through our hospital, Presby. BIG MISTAKE. John and I learned (quickly!) that we are not mature enough to take those type of classes. (Note: we will be taking infant CRP and breastfeeding). The birthing classes… yikes, like I said, not mature enough. Let’s just say when we made it to the video section and the “positions” the “couples” (yes, I said COUPLES) were in while BIRTHING the baby made me lose my cookies. It’s just not for John or myself… we’re both pretty traditional. I also know that I want to be laying on the birthing bed with no pain. I have crazy respect for those who can go natural. Long story short… I basically was laughing so hard that I had mascara down my face, John had to shove a pillow in my face and he proceeded to snort.
Maternity clothes: Lame question… have you seen my belly, thighs, bum and arms lately?
Gender: John Henry Thorne… pretty sure we’ll call him Henry.
Nursery: A little change. I originally was going to do this ottoman from West Elm. Cute online, not so cute in person. The color was off and it was pretty low. I ended up purchasing a pouf… I always wanted a white pouf for the nursery anyway… and a $275 pouf that I scored for $100 bucks from Overstock. Not to shabby. Wall paper installer came out to the new house so we are good to go! 🙂
Movement: Oh man! I love his little movements and I know I’ll miss them. He’s a night owl and keeps me up most nights… and for hours at a time. I never realized how ACTIVE an unborn baby could/ can be. During each doctors visit (right now every 2 weeks) I get an ultrasound, so it’s easy for me to see where the limbs, head, bum are located… it’s easy to spot out those body parts while he’s moving. I am having a hard time figuring out the different between body rolls and braxton hicks.
Sleep: Refer to movement…. not much sleep between his active self and potty breaks.
What I miss: I just can’t stand that feeling of my thighs rubbing together. BUT I wouldn’t trade being pregnant for anything. I do miss being able to breath and sit comfortably.
Best moment this week: We got our official closing date — December 20th! Beyond excited! Baby is due December 7th. They say first time pregnancies typically go late. My mom is coming in town on the day we close (12/20) and staying through December 30th. She’ll be amazing help with the move and the baby. It’s getting real, so real… baby, house, first Christmas ever spent in Charlotte… together… married… in a house… with a baby who is ours?!?! I can’t complain and if I looked back to this time LAST year, never in a million years would I be able to think that THIS is our future.
Looking forward to: Nesting and meeting our little man. I’m so excited I can’t stand it.
Cravings: Have to take the pumpkin candy corn off of here… I stopped my obsession during the first week of October. I still crave them, I just don’t give in. Wedge salads, cheese (especially shredded parmesan cheese), anything salty. Still loving the smell of gasoline, etc. So odd.
Symptoms: I’ll still go with cellulite (I laugh that I made that a symptom), shortness of breath and Charley Horses!
Workouts: Five different 6 mile walks. One Group Power class… went again today (Thursday) and about died. I left after one song. I’m thinking week 32 is my last week of classes. It’s so hard to lift.
