*read our journey here + how it happened here*
Dear Baby,
We celebrated our first 4th of July together and this time next year you’ll be 7 months old. That’s crazy to believe and so much fun to think about. This week you were moving in my belly and your Daddy put his hands on my tummy and sure enough he was able to feel a flutter. Pretty amazing, little one.
Your aunt and uncle Moor also moved to Charlotte this week. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have them nearby. They are going to love watching you grow up and we are thankful to have an extra set of hands!
This weekend we enjoyed house sitting at a friends, which gave us lots excitement… what it’s going to be like when we move to the burbs, we have a home, we have a neighborhood and we have you.
Such exciting times, love.
Love you,
Mommy
Size of babe: A mango! One of my favorite fruits.
Weight gain: 14lbs! How did that/ this happen? 14lbs, like that. Bam.
Maternity clothes: Absolutely… there’s some shorts and pants that I’m getting away with, but the only reason is because I purchased larger sizes. Finally took the plunge and purchased Lululemon workout clothes. I was trying to hold out, but I do workout a lot and my regular clothes were sooooo tight and my tops were creepn’.
Gender: Back and forth… back and forth… I have no real gut on this topic. I can picture John and I with both a boy and a girl… in a perfect world we’d love one of each. I don’t have an particular order I’d “prefer” them in, so I’ll take whatever! 🙂 When I sit back and think about a little girl or little boy I get so excited at the thought of both.
Nursery: When John and I were running the other day down East Blvd. we window shopped at Lucy and Company. Sure enough John spotted a rocker that he “loved”… it was also the same rocker that I ever looked at for the nursery that he orgainlly shot down. 🙂 He likes it now and we have yet to test it out… so fingers crossed we fall in love. It’s a bit more mod than the crib, dresser/ changing table, but I sorta like the mixture… means I can introduce more mod items. Movement: It’s the neatest feeling in the world, now that I know what it is. On Wednesday, July 10th I was sitting on the sofa, lounged out. The little person started going crazy on me. I put John’s hands on my tummy and he actually was able to feel the flutters. He was amazed and touched… and you guessed it ;), the little man shed a tear or two. Oh Johnny, God love him.
Sleep: Sleep the norm… really well. Although this past week has kicked my bum. I’ve been exhausted. More exhausted than the first trimester. Turkey Taco Tuesday I was ready to pass out before John got home from work. On Thursday (the day I turned 19 weeks) I didn’t have any clients and it was rainy… so I indulged and did something I’ve never done before. Stayed in, slept in, watched movies & shows (including Laguna Beach) and ate 2 blueberry bagels. Literally the easiest thing to make so I went for it. Normally during the week I don’t let a day go by without a workout… notta. It was the best feeling in the world to stay in and veg all day.
What I miss: Hummm…. honestly, being totally honest. I sorta miss wearing shorts and not being so concerned with what people think about the back of my legs. They are so covered in cellulite. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, but it’s really the only thing I can think of that “I miss”. LOL’s. #preggoproblems #killthecellulite
Best moment this week: Johnny feeling the baby move (see “movement”). AND… my sis, Alexa and her hubby, Bruce moved to Charlotte from Florida. Feeling blessed. It’s been awesome having her so close… we hung out Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday evening, Saturday afternoon/ evening and all day on Sunday.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender and I can’t believe it’s so close.
Cravings: BLT’s, corn on the cob, feta, olives, bread & olive oil (new one), diet/ caffeine free sodas (I wasn’t a soda drinker before pregnancy).
Symptoms: Cellulite made it again this week! Ha! Tummy pains, getting full faster, heat burn here and there.
Workouts: Getting bored with my Dilworth/ Myers Park runs and Group Power classes. So, this week I started to run the greenway at the Met… Little Sugar Creek Greenway. It’s beautiful and pretty flat which is good, running down hills these days shakes the belly a little too much. I do enjoy the flatness and the run, but it’s not as shaded. Still considering branching into Tracy Anderson, but I love old school working out… weights and traditional moves.
