Dear Baby,
Hey little babe! What a great week we had together, with each day, your daddy and I still can’t believe the joy that has overcome our lives. You’ve brought so much into this little world of ours. On July 2nd we got to spend an entire hour looking at your sweet self on the ultrasound screen. Everything was confirmed that you are one healthy little person. That’s the best news of all and the only news we wanted. As I was laying still on the ultrasound bed I felt your very first flutters. Amazing. I knew exactly what it was and as I felt you the ultrasound technician was able to zoom into your entire body to see those legs going wild. Kicking and moving, you’re our active little bean. This changed my everything, my love for you grew even more (I didn’t think it was possible to love someone that I’ve ever met as much as I love you), I feel a stronger connection with you and I can’t tell you how much I just love you. Your Daddy was sitting next to me and holding my hand when I first felt you move. He loves you so, so much.
That same day the person that you “are” (boy or girl) was written inside a card and we gave that card to two of our best friends. They also love you so much and now share this bond with you that I can’t wait for. Those besties of ours are going to help plan the rest of your gender reveal party. We can’t wait little one… boy or girl, our love with only continue to grow for you.
What a fantastic week. Seeing you is everything.
All my love,
Mommy
Size of babe: Our little sweet potato!
Weight gain: 10lbs and feels like it!
Maternity clothes: Every single day! Stretchy waistbands and ruching sides on shirts are = amazing!
Gender: Invites are in the mail and party planning is done! 🙂 This week we had our ultrasound and the gender of our little sweet potato has been written in a card and handed off to two besties to finish the planning.
Nursery: I go back and forth all.the.time on what I want. I definitely don’t want it to go vintage, which it could… I’m thinking about ditching the lighting fixture. Definitely want to keep it white/ ivory with maybe some pops of colors, but nothing too loud. Like roman shades with banding in a color down the side. Color in artwork, pillows, etc. Definitely want a sheepskin rug for in there. Of course it’s white. 🙂
Movement: YES! It was amazing… caused the hubby some tears and me too. It was during our ultrasound and I was super still and laying back in the chair. The technician was focused in on the brain (taking measurements), so we couldn’t see the rest of the body. All of a sudden I felt flutters on my left side. I mentioned that I was feeling those for the first time and she switched the wand to reflect that part of my belly and sure enough the little nugget was kicking me.
Sleep: Sleep really well, just still having a hard time falling asleep once I get into the bed.
What I miss: Eating healthy.
Best moment this week: Definitely seeing our baby and confirmation that we have a healthy little human growing inside of me. We graduated to “low risk” pregnancy. The gender has be confirmed (counting the days until we find out). It’s amazing seeing the itty-bitty grow, then seeing him/ her move on the ultrasound screen is seriously the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced. Feeling our little butterball kick was so surreal and almost made this connection between mother and child even stronger.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender!!!! Obviously. 😉
Cravings: BLT’s (hands down)!!! Cucumber, tomato, feta and olive salads. Diet/ caffeine sodas, I was never much of a soda drinker before, but there’s something so refreshing about them now. I try to limit myself to only a few per week and no more than one per day.
Symptoms: Tummy pains, heartburn and cellulite <– I’m adding cellulite to the symptoms category!
Workouts: Doing great! Definitely still motivated and dedicated. Runs are getting harder, but now I just allow for more time to get them done. I did a step class last week and I never felt so good! It was too hot/ muggy and rainy out to run so I decided to go for a step class. Haven’t done one in years and it was very basic, but still kicked my tush. I also did Group Power and a few good runs.
