*read our journey here + how it happened here*
Dear Baby,
What a week we had together, little one. This weekend we had our first boat ride of the summer and your first boat ride ever. For the first time in my life, I felt like the “read-deal” kind of mama, sporting a maternity one-piece. Your daddy actually loved it and it gave me more of a glimpse into the future… play dates at the pool, swimming lessons early on and mommy chasing her little love around (hey, that’s you!!!!) the neighborhood pool in her one-piece. Soon we will be living near the lake. Your daddy swears one day we’ll have a boat again. When your daddy and I first started dating, we spent many (all!) summer weekends out on the lake. It’s a fun, peaceful place to be during those hot summer days.
We think about you all the time and love you like crazy. Daddy talks to you all the time, wishes you a good morning and a goodnight… he’s was talking to you the other day and he had a tearful moment. I swear, you got yourself a good Daddy I tell ya.
Love you so much, our little one,
Mommy
Weight gain: 9lbs… each day it’s something different.
Maternity clothes: Sure am and I love them. They make me feel and look more pregnant!
Gender: Invites are done! 🙂 Now to finish the party planning.
Nursery: This week just flew by, we didn’t have a lot of time to think about the nursery. I know once we know the gender we’ll kick the nursery into high speed.
Movement: Well… last Friday @ 16w1d we had an offsite ultrasound done, 2d/ 3d and 4d… it was amazing. Anyways, I was told that my placenta was rather “large” (over and over and over again). You calling me chubs? She then followed up by saying that I might not feel movement right away because my placenta was so big. So, it could be weeks before I feel anyways.
Sleep: If you spy me pinning in the wee hours it’s because I have a hard time sleeping in my own bed. You put me on the sofa in front of a tv and I’m out. The minute I go to bed it’s like my mind starts spinning.
What I miss: Well, we went on the lake this weekend (thanks Lunsford’s) and I thought for sure I’d miss an ice cold bevvy, but not at all. I had one non-alcholic brewski and was amazed! Tasted so good!
Best moment this week: Without a doubt seeing our baby on the ultrasound screen on Friday evening. We went to My Sunshine Baby and we literally got to spend an hour looking at that sweetie. Our appointment wasn’t until 8:30pm and we had a big dinner at the Greek Isles. So, by the time of the ultrasound, baby Thorne was sleeping. It was really sweet until we saw the position that “it” was sleeping… arms crossed at it’s chest and legs crossed at it’s ankles. Taking 100% after Daddy… correct, Johnny (Daddy) sleeps exactly like that, very much coffin like and it freaks me out every time I catch him in that position. I left the ultrasound thinking that we have a Henry White Pants on our hands (God help me). He’ll welcome himself to the world to the sound of Bob Marly and glow sticks. Hahaha!!! Johnny still thinks it’s a girl. Majority of friends think it’s a girl and my family thinks it’s a boy! Only time will tell…
Oh! On Wednesday we had a doctors appointment and we got to listen to baby T’s heartbeat… which was beating in at a healthy 160’ish bpm’s.
Looking forward to: July 2nd we have our anatomy ultrasound and the gender of our baby will be written in a card and passed onto our friends.
Cravings: Mediterranean (Greek food)… I’ve been making tomato, cucumber, olive, feta salad almost every night. Raspberries. Grilled cheese + BLT’s. On Friday I had a Jimmy John’s BLT sub and it was all I needed. I never craved sandwiches, I always went to salads. Now all I crave are sandwiches. Gah, Mel had a cookie cake for Johnny the other day and since then it’s all I’ve been thinking about.
Symptoms: Nothing really except for some tummy pains and heart burn.
Workouts: Still going for it! Runs are getting rather hard only because the babe is sitting right on my bladder, but I’m still going just making frequent stops along the way. Group Power is ok… I’m getting weaker though and I’m not sure the exercises in the class are targeting the areas that expecting mama’s need. What I’m trying to really say, is I’m wondering if it’s a waste of my time since I’m getting pooped so quickly and my muscles are getting so weak? I’m considering purchasing the Tracy Anderson Preggo videos… anyone else try these? I feel like a workout geared towards those expecting will benefit me more?
