Being that during our 15th week it was Father’s Day… the Daddy-to-be wrote this weeks letter. I cried.
Dear Baby,
Its my first pre-official Father’s Day compliments of you! I’ll get the cheesy part out of the way…I haven’t met you yet and already love you more than I knew I could. I can’t wait for you to officially join us in the ‘outside world’ so we can see what you’re all about. It’s been a crazy journey already and we can’t wait to see what the combination of such an amazing mom and short dad brings to us. If you’re a girl, you will never be allowed to leave the house or date anyone…ever. Hopefully you’ll have your mom’s greek skin and curly hair, because you’ll burn to a crisp if you have the misfortune of being like me. You’ll most likely have me wrapped around your finger from your first breath…because I’m a complete sap and don’t stand a chance against you and your mom. I have every intention of forcing you to watch college basketball and premier league soccer, so I plan on sharing that with you from the start. If you’re a boy, hopefully you’ll have your Papito’s (grandfather Thorne) height and the ability to stay out of trouble. Carolina gear will be on you from day one and I will do my best to raise a proud little Tarheel. Of course, when you get older you can pick whoever you want to like…as long its Carolina. I’ll try to introduce you to as many sports and all of life’s adventures as I can. No matter what the future brings us, we will love you with all we’ve got and do our best to raise you right. I can’t wait to meet you in December!
Love,
Daddy
Size of babe: An avocado! I can’t believe it’s already 5″ in length.
Weight gain: 8lbs and to be honest, I’m not surprised because it’s been so easy to slip up… I’m really feeing in (literally) to these cravings. I’m really enjoying pregnancy. 😉
Maternity clothes: Oh, yes! All the time and I’m regretting not doing this sooner. The elastic bands feel amazing. I am missing my Lulu pants, I used to live in those.
Gender: I designed the invites! 🙂 July 27th couldn’t arrive soon enough! I’m thinking boy & John’s still stuck on girl. Either way, we’ll be over the moon… it’ll just be nice to know and to start to really plan the nursery. More so, I’m excited to start referring to “it” by “its” name… Henry or Elle. I’m getting everything ready to pass on to the girls so they can take the party planning from me.
Nursery: We’ve been looking into the rocker situation, which isn’t easy. First of all, they are expensive and because it’s a piece of furniture that is really only used in a nursery and hard to relocate in the house I’m having a hard time taking the plunge. Anyways… been online, Pottery Barn Kids and Buy Buy Baby and the one I love the best is from Pottery Barn. Which has feet, so once the rocker/ glider isn’t needed you can switch it out.
Movement: According to the books, apps and online some gals start feeling movement during their 16th week… which is next week!
Sleep: Eeeeekkkkk… turning into a night owl. Having a hard time falling assleep. Mainly because my mind is always going and I’m just excited… so I’ve turned into a night pinner. lol.
What I miss: I really wish veggies, salads and chicken… I need to suck it up though and just start eating them.
Best moment this week: Spending the entire weekend with my hubby. There’s not many weeks where we get two back-to-back days together and this weekend was AMAZING. Truly. So much happened. We decided to celebrate Johnny’s 36th birthday during this weekend (it’s really the following weekend) and it was Father’s Day.
Friday I had the entire day off, started by getting my hair done, shopped and met my girlfriend for a mani/ pedi. That night Johnny and I went to Fiamma, by far the best Italian food in Charlotte. Fantastic and amazing!
Saturday, I started the day early with 6 miles, followed by a little Einstein bagel breakfast. Then we went nuts! Went furniture shopping at High Cotton and Restoration Hardware. Ended up purchasing a bed (king size!), kitchen table, chairs, chandy and barstools. We’re BOTH so excited… and Johnny picked out the chairs on his own, they are quite girly might I add. Good Johnny. That evening we celebrated his dinner at Bonterra. It’s been years since we’ve been… not impressed and I now remember why we haven’t been there in such a long time. Overpriced for what we got. Their bread stole the show. John had frozen peas in his $38 entree. My $30 chicken was the size if my elbow. Basically we left there starving.
Sunday we did the 4 mile loop and then ran some errands and went into BuyBuyBaby to check out the goods… rocker drama! 😉 #firstworldproblems
Oh, and we’re now on a spending freeze!
Looking forward to: Ultrasound on June 20th! Love seeing our sweet little babe!
Cravings: Mediterranean! I’ve been making cucumber, tomato, olive and feta salads.
Symptoms: Nothing.
Workouts: Runs are getting harder, but I’m still out there and enjoying just being outside and on my feet. Loving Group Power as always… did 3 classes this week.
