Fall is by far my favorite time of year… in North Carolina, it’s not too hot but not too cold AND perfect for layers.
I love intermixing layers, textures, layers, colors, and more layers. I love seeing an array of browns that do not match perfectly or contrasting patterns. It’s a work of art to see all of these elements come together on a body.
Have I ever mentioned I love my job… ???
With adorable duo’s first look it was all of the above. Pattern on pattern and hue on hue. No rhyme, no reason. Fitting a body around all of the luxurious garments. For miss Lisa we selected a pencil skirt that fit her like a glove and the detailing is gorgeous. The high waisted skirt, rich plaid and big pockets completely draw your eye up to her itty bitty waistline. From there we paired the deep burgundy skirt with a dusty, blush pink blouse and created a shawl effect using a loud yet traditional patterned scarf. We wanted the focus and visual to lie on her upper half so we toned the lower half {tights and boots} by using neutrals.
For her makeup I used a pretty settle shadow and they lifted her eyes by applying lashes and deepening her lash line.
For her hair it’s just simple ringlets and then a little shake.
The handsome fella is sporting his favorite jeans which fit him so well. One of my biggest pet-peeves is when the pants buckle at the knee. GUYS ~ invest in a good fit or at least a good alteration. We introduced a slight pattern with the pearl snap plaid shirt, overlaid with a v-neck camel sweater. Topped his look off with a scruffy mountain man coat. Loving the mixture of browns.
Oh my! Look two is by far my favorite look of all!
For her second look we kept the same blush blouse and introduced a brick colored, skinny cord pant. We coupled her riding boot over the pant and voila… I loves! We scored a fabulous plaid wool coat that screams my name { I NEED THIS *husband* wink }. We topped her off with a beautiful rust scarf. Her hat { in my opinion } brought out the unexpected fashion sense in this shoot.
I’m discovering that I have a passion for mens fashion. I love dressing guys. With his second look, once again it’s all about the warm layers. We paired a preppy gingham shirt and Mr. Rodgers style button up v-neck sweater. His outer layers are both cords. Most people wouldn’t pair the two together but I’m seriously loving this tone on tone brown! We finished with a splash of red in his scarf.
