Both of which… I love!
For those who follow my FACEBOOK page, might remember this little sneak peek image that I posted on Friday. This past week I popped into F21, it’s been a very long time since I’ve been in. As most of you know, it’s a time commitment to shop their racks, these days I find myself without the patience to dig. Anyways, I was pretty excited when I scored this mustard MAXI for $15.50 – I also purchased it in a royal blue.
I figured it would be perfect to layer, and that’s exactly what I’ve done!
My pictures are blurry… ps! Not sure what’s going on there.
{What I’m Wearing} Maxi: F21, Boots: VICTORIA’S SECRET {had for years}, Gingham Oxford: JCREW, Jean Jacket: GAP, Shade: MARC JACOBS, Bag: MICHAEL KORS {so over it and have been forever}, Necklaces: STELLA&DOT, Watch: MICHAEL KORS, Leather Wrap: ALDO
{My Makeup} Totally excited about the new fall shades at MAC, my lips happen to be one of them in color REBEL
I’ve blogged in the past about my passion for running. It’s something that I can’t go a day without. It’s honestly my therapy.
My love all began when I was 20 years old, I was in dire need to drop a few lbs that I had put on during college. I joined the YMCA and started running a 2mile outside route. From that point, the rest is history.
For almost 9 years now, I’ve seen a lot of hidden treasures throughout Charlotte by foot. Over time, running was my form of exercise and an easy way for me to stay in shape. Now, it’s my way to get lost in my iPod and deep into thought; I’ve made many big decisions while running, I talk to myself, I listen to myself, I create in my head… the pavement has become my best friend. Running is a hobby that both my husband and I share… together! Him and I plan our future, plot out our dreams and talk about nothing when we run. He pushes me, I push him, and at the end it’s fun for us.
This past weekend the husband and I ran the HIT THE BRIXX 10k. For those who are friends with me on Facebook are probably over my running uploads…I decided to document our race via the iPhone and Facebook. It was actually so much fun but quite distracting {not gonna lie}. Races are the only runs that I try to go my fastest and between the mobile uploads and the fact that I did Group Power the day before and ran every single day that week, my little legs were quiet zonked! I didn’t do as well as I had hoped but it was still so much fun to run alongside my husband.
What’s even more fun is being part of an active community. We started the first mile running next to a 10 year old boy and his father, within the first first 30 seconds of the run we passed a blind man – running. I looked at my husband, he looked at me and our eyes both began to well up with tears. The sidelines of husbands cheering on their wives, children cheering on their mommy’s, the neighborhoods coming together to clap, wave and sing. That is what I love about races. Still, to this day at the end of each race I cry… thankful for my legs, for my health, for my heart, for my best friend running partner and for life!
I’m not the fastest booty loop runner, and I sure don’t try to be but it is my mental escape and something that I love.
We rewarded ourselves later that evening by devouring some Cajun Queen with the Penza’s! Delightful!
