‘Say it ain’t so…’ we survived!! Truth be told we’re back; we’re happy to be back and we’re over and beyond exhausted!
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday of last week photographer and friend Kristin Vining and myself ventured to NYC with 4 clients and 5 shoots. One wedding, three engagement sessions {which each included two completely different looks} and one after wedding session. Three of the couples flew in from Charlotte and the other from Texas… FIVE EXHILARATING DAYS of love, making people pretty and photographing, photographing…. and you guessed right photographing! We went to New York to do what we do best… we didn’t go out, not once… we didn’t have extravagant dinners and all nights with the exception of one we were in bed by 9:30pm {the last night 11:30pm}. Our trip was to truly capture unforgettable moments during the couples exciting journey they are entering into… words can’t describe the chills and emotions that escalated during each shoot… to be part of something as {sorry for the lame use of word} but as “cool” as what we were doing was mind-blowing… I’ve been completely moved and humbled over the past five days… from the 4:00am wakeup calls, the sunrise and smiles in Coney Island, taking in every piece of architecture at the top of the rock, working side by side with a fabulous photographer, the saxophonist in Central Park and the slow dance of two adorable souls and finally doing makeup + hair on the top of our balcony that overlooked the beautiful city. I cannot be more appreciative and thankful for my experience and being able to make art out of wardrobe, makeup and hairspary in a totally different city to me. I hearted every bit of my time in the big apple.
“We’re here….EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK” !!!
Here we are, just landed in the big city… Kid’s in a candy shop!!!
I can’t even begin to express to you what was going through my mind at this time… I mean balcony, in the middle of a breathtaking city, views like you wouldn’t believe and there I was doing what I love… Yes, this might sound cheesy but I had to stop for a second, grab a tissue… and thank the lord, my husband, my friends, my photographer friends and everyone else around me who has put their toe to my tush and told me to shoot for the stars and go for my dreams… I cannot thank you all enough for the love and support… without all the encouragement I would never EVER had the confidence in myself to be doing what love.
And… wouldn’t you know, after writing that… the thought again brought another tear. To all, thank you!
I leave you with this last picture of two completely giddy gals on the go… AND… KV, I cannot thank you enough!!
Tomorrow, I will carry on with my STYLE + your STYLE… I still have Sara B., Kristin, Kristen and KV left to go!!
Love to all of my followers…
