Shannon + Matt… a ray of sunshine and a whole latta L O V E… soon to tie the knot!
Brides + Grooms have too much to worry about prior to their wedding day…. you don’t have the time to think about grabbing 2 delicious granny smith apples to incorporate in your shoot, or “xoxo” letters, a homemade flower power belt, ext, ext…SOOOO….THAT’S WHERE I COME IN!!
For those of you that don’t know what I do… well let me take a moment and explain. I’m a wardrobe stylist along with doing makeup + hair; and this is my passion! I thrive off of every experience with my couples… It truly touches my sole when I can help individuals feel good + confident about themselves! Where do I come in? For instance with Shannon + Matt our journey together started about a month ago. Shannon contacted me regarding pulling together a “look”, wardrobe, accessories and props for her upcoming engagement photo session with the wonderful Kristin Vining Photography! I brainstormed with the couple and then went back to brainstorm with the photographer; discussing the perfect location and the perfect time of day! From there the lovey dovey couple and I went shopping…. music to any girls ears right!? Day 1 we began by pulling together Shannon + Matt’s shabby sheek cowboy series. Next on the list… knocking out the white on white look… finding the perfect accessories, props, ext! The morning of the shoot I met Shannon on location to do makeup + hair! From there… the couple worked it in front of Kristin Vinings camera!
Thank you to New York Bride & Groom for allowing us to borrow this beautiful short and sassy dress!!
Thanks to Bella Bridesmaids for letting us borrow the adorable bink bike!!
Now to one of my all time fav looks…. I’m a country girl at heart!
And I leave you with these… a few pic’s of us in action!!
Ok… not done just yet… Now, I leave you with this 🙂 a few words from Kristin Vinings blog…
“It is an amazingly delicious experience when a bride and groom realize the importance of hair/makeup AND styling! While I would LOVE to visit all of my client’s closets, layout wardrobe, shop with them (ahh!!)…I unfortunately do not have the luxury of time (that’s if I want to me a good mommy…which is my #1 priority outside of God and my hubby!). I am proud to have Lindsey Regan Thorne : b e p r e t t y as part of the KVP family. She is the epitome of style, fashion and well…a lot of sugar!! Our engagement shoots start with you (the bride and groom) filling out a Getting to Know You form. We want to know your interests, hobbies and passions. What do you do most weekends? What is your favorite color, restaurant, stores, city? From there she and I collaborate on locations, wardrobe and props. Lindsey will schedule a time to inventory your closet, and if you don’t have she will pull it from different stores. Shoes, accessories, clothing for both of you…the entire look! In addition to styling (and giving Rachel Zoe a run…hehe), she is an up and coming on-location hair and makeup artist. With a kit stacked full of yummy Mac makeup, lashes and hair pieces, she simply enhances your look…from head to toe (literally)!
Then…that is where I step in! It is so refreshing and exciting to photograph a completely thought out production. It’s all about YOU and every little DETAIL – and I don’t want to leave one corner unturned! So – for what it is worth…here is my two cents…”what girl doesn’t like to feel beautiful? to be doted on? to feel stylish? to spend a couple of hours with your soon-to-be husband capturing fun memories reflective of the two of you? Engagement sessions are designed to not only capture you in your element, but it is a time for us to get to know one another – so very, very important!”
I hope you enjoy this little taste of our session last week. Shannon and Matt are adorably in love, and we are so proud to be part of their upcoming big day on August 7th at Ballantyne Resort!”
