Life Lately

Apr 17 2017

Last weekend my aunt and uncle from Omaha, Nebraska (where I was born and raised) flew into Charlotte to visit us.  It was such a great long weekend with them and on Sunday we took the light rail into Uptown to watch a Knights baseball game.

I’m wearing a kimono (they hide the extra “fluff” and my go-to) AND Old Navy has my favorite white distressed jeans ($34) again this year (same as I’m wearing in this picture).  They’re available in regular, tall and petite.

Pictures of our Family

Sep 27 2016

I wanted to share some very special family pictures by the AMAZING, Alex Michele Photography during our visit to Omni at Amelia Island Plantation.  Alex has captured our family at Amelia Island each year and the pictures are so special to look back and reflect on.  We cannot wait to add Olive to the mix next June when we venture back down to Amelia Island to celebrate the hubby’s big 40th birthday!!!

I’ve linked up the items in the portraits at the bottom of the post.

Our 7 year anniversary

Sep 25 2016

Where does the time go?

I can’t believe, here we are, 7 years later.  When we got married, I remember John saying that he wanted to renew our vows during our 10 year wedding anniversary.  All I could think about was how old we would be (lol)… and here we are, 3 years away from that milestone.  Time slow down!

I’m so incredibly lucky to have this man in my life… one toddler, a child in my belly later and one amazing husband – I couldn’t ask for more.  The past 7 years have been with my best friend by my side.

Here’s a walk down memory lane!

Omni Amelia Island Plantation

Sep 13 2016

It’s no secret that Amelia Island Plantation is our favorite place.  It’s beautiful, peaceful, serene… it leaves you with so many amazing memories and caters to families.  We adore the island so much, that our daughters middle name will represent the place that we treasure.  Amelia Island Plantation encompasses every stage in life – family vacationing from when children are just babies until they’re adults, to honeymooners and retirement folks.  It’s the package deal in our eyes.

We love that we’re a 5-1/2 hour car ride from the beautiful experience that Amelia Island Plantation provides.  If I can paint a picture, just imagine one side of the resort draped in a mossy sheet that decorates the giant oak trees.  While the other side is a white ground of soft sand that meets the ocean.  Truly, a picturesque destination.  The all white cabanas, beach chairs and umbrellas don’t hurt the picture either. 😉

Many of you know that we’ve been coming to Amelia Island Planation for several years now and we hope to continue the family vacation tradition.  My husband grew up vacationing at the plantation with his family.  It’s important to him, that he can recreate all of those special memories with our little family.

Warning – this post is about 5 million years long!  There’s just so much to cover and share.
