So long 2014

Dec 31 2014

2014 was an amazing year.

I thought “i” became “whole” when I married my best friend in 2009.

I thought “we” became “whole” when son came into this world at the end of 2013.

2014 brought even more joy into our hearts, laughter in our home and tears in our eyes.  Life is sweeter than ever and 2014 was definitely the best year of all.  It was good to my family.  It was good to our hearts.  And it’s left us so incredibly thankful.

There were so many tiny moments to celebrate.

Henry – my love.  He continues to fill our home with so much light.  He’s the love of my life and so, so sweet.  Watching him grow into this little toddler has been more fun than anything I’ve ever gone through in life.  Seeing him interact with my friends’ children warms my heart and brings tears to my eyes.  Pinch me moments.  His running, explosive hugs and big juicy kisses.  His loud voice in the morning, “Daddddddddieeeeeeee”.  His love for snacks.  The way he cuddles his head in the nape of our necks and wraps his arms around our shoulders.   The little noises he makes when he’s concentrating.  The way he backs his little bum up to sit in your lap.  His constant smiles.  “Uh-Ohhhhh!”, everything is an “uh-ohhhhh” and hearing him say those words with expression is just too cute!  There are some hard times too (5pm dinner time – yikes & missing his nap times), but the good times out-weigh any little heartache along the way, however, I need to remind myself of that a little more often. 🙂

Be Pretty – my business.  I count my blessings every! single! day! and feel so fortunate to be doing what I’m doing.  In 2014, I learned how to balance a business, a family, a home and a baby… all while growing my business.  Brought on Sabrina full time and growing her artisrty within Be Pretty.  Expanding our teams (more to come on that).  I don’t know what I would have done without Sabrina!  Her talents and dedication have helped me with this new chapter of life.  Our brides and clients — they truly are the “faces” of Be Pretty and we are so in love with each and everyone of them.  For trusting in our teaming, believing in us to make (a part) of their wedding dreams a reality.  We are so fortunate for!  Thank you!  And our vendors, we can’t thank you enough for singing our praises!  We are so blessed to work with so many talented individuals.

Hubby – my other love.  He puts his family before anything and I don’t thank him enough for all the love that he gives us.   He’s the sweetest man in this world.  I give him a hard time for being too protective of Henry, driving too slow, telling the same ole stories, his tears… but in reality, I’m so thankful for his little old man ways!  He puts up with a lot from me, yet supports me.  He’s emotional, sensitive, grounded, loving, caring and my rock.  I love him more than words and although this year of life hasn’t been as much about “us” and our marriage… I’m excited to focus more on that in the new year.  We’ll be kicking it off in Jamaica come February!  I love you, Johnny!

It continues to get better!  Although there are hard times and there will continue to be road blocks along the way… the happiness we experienced in 2014, far exceeds any negativity that has shadowed over our family.

I hope you can celebrate the wonderful moments you shared with loved ones in 2014!  Cheers to an amazing New Year!

All my love!

Pop of lips

Dec 23 2014

Call me crazy, but I’m over the red… I’m also about to rip this tree down the day after Christmas!

Bring on cocktails with umbrellas, cheery blossom trees and bight lips!  I get that we have awhile before baring our pasty white legs, but that doesn’t mean we have to hid behind scarlet red!

On Friday I busted out my favorite pink duo!  I swear by these two shades, when used together!  I also prefer this shade of pink when matte, so I don’t add a gloss.

MAC “Magenta” Lipliner + MAC “Hot Gosspip” Lipstick

I line my lips and also color the inside of my lips with the liner, then add a swipe or two of the lipstick!

*I know I’ve been posting totally-creepy-selfies lately, but I’m always asked about the makeup that I use and all of my favorite shades/ products!*
