weekend recap

A little dive into our weekend!

Lindsey Regan Thorne_02

On Thursday (not exactly the weekend), I attended the Carolina Bride | Bespoke Inspired Design For Your Southern Affair book party.  I couldn’t be more excited and proud of two of my dear friends, Drew & Cristina.  They wrote, designed and published their first book together.  More on that coming soon… I was so honored to be part of such an awesome and beautiful book! 🙂

Friday I had an early morning wedding.  I was uptown by 6am beautifying a gorgeous lady and her MOH for her surprise wedding.  After that I had the day off and started to dig into the playroom gallery wall.   These adorable prints are from Society6 and the moose art is from Target.  That adorable pillow is from Candelabra.

Friday evening I did a little bit of online shopping! 🙂 I can’t decide on a skirt, but love this one from West Elm and ordered it.  I also purchased these honker frames from Pottery Barn (2 for up the stairs).  They are 25″ and hopefully they will fill the space well.

Sabrina and I spent the day beautifying on Saturday!  Only 3 weddings left until the end of our season and year.

Saturday afternoon my little family put on our best plaid and went to the most adorable tree farm in Huntersville to pick out our Christmas tree.  We got the “perfect” tree that doesn’t sit up straight at all.  Ooooooppps! 🙂

Sunday I COOKED!  That’s right, I cooked for my hubby in hopes that he would wrap our tree in a million bucks.  It totally worked.  Our tree is a glowing, glittery, crooked mess!

I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend!  Who all decorated?

makeup kit favs

Nov 20 2014

As a makeup artist we are constantly trying new products and ordering… ordering… ordering… replenishing!

It’s amazing how much makeup we truly go through.  Between false lashes, foundations and lipsticks it’s a never ending process.  Yesterday 2 of my 5 shipments arrived (happy dance!).  Here’s a few of my makeup kit staples and favorites for beautifying this time of year.

What are some of your makeup bag staples?  I love trying new products!

Shop These Amazing Products:

Tarte Amazing Clay Foundation ~ I’m color “light neutral” & I find this to be the most common color.

Tarte Airbrush Foundation Brush ~ this thing is amazing & should be used to apply your foundation… AMAZING!  Flawless finish.  Also, Tarte has this awesome gift brush set and they are full size brushes.  $44 for 5 brushes!

Tarte Color Clay CC Primer  ~ I only use 2 colors on my girls; “light” or “medium“. I apply after primer & before foundation.

MAC Studio Fix Powder ~ For my weddings, I apply this over the foundation for an EXTRA full coverage.  Right now, “C2” is a common color in these wintery months.  For a lighter coverage I’ll use Tarte Smooth Operator.  On myself I use I use the Kat Von D powder in combination with the Tarte Amazing Clay foundation.

MAC Highlighter ~ I love this!  LOVE!  I use it as a highlighter and to really lift up those cheek bones!  The color I use is, “Global Glow“.

MAC Blush ~ a great color for everyone this time of year.

MAC Lip Gloss ~ this is my personal favorite color for anytime of the year.

MAC Lip Gloss ~  a great sheer for brides or a more toned down lip.

MAC Lip Gloss ~ another personal favorite.

MAC Lipstick ~ I’ve been posting this color all over IG lately on my clients.  Another favorite.

MAC Paint Pot ~ the only eye primer that I’ll use on myself and clients.

MAC Shadow ~ ahhhh!  Another one of my favorites and really looks great on anyone.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer ~ another great staple.

Weekend recap

Nov 17 2014

It was one of those weekends that definitely deserves a recap.

If you follow me on Instagram… then you already know all about it! 😉

You might recall my Friday post.  I had the weekend off of weddings, awhile back we committed to running the Thunder Road Half Marathon.  Well, that didn’t happen, so instead, we enjoyed a lovely weekend… together, as a family!

Here’s a little dive into what we did!

Lindsey Regan Thorne_Weekend Recap_01

Henry took 3 long naps on Saturday (doesn’t happen often).  His 2nd nap of the day lasted 3 whole hours.  During this stretch, we got out Christmas decor and I sat back (never happens), flipped through magazines for inspiration and enjoyed my favorite candle and a cup of joe.  “ahhhhh”… to say the least.

During my inspiration magazine hunt, I ended up ordering these items!

NOTE: TODAY ONLYPottery Barn 15% OFF your entire order + FREE SHIPPING!

I ended up doing traditional stockings from Pottery Barn (size Large).  This Pottery Barn Kids Advent Calendar.  These Pottery Barn pillows.

This guy!  Man, we had such a good weekend with him.  He was in the best mood and had so much fun!  We got dressed up on Saturday with high hopes of running errands  That all changed after lunch when he decided to snooze for 3 hours.  We got back in our jammies and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon in.

Lindsey Regan Thorne_Weekend Recap_04

I started decorating!  I know it’s a bit early, but if it was up to me, I’d start decorating November 1st.  We didn’t decorate last year, we had Henry on 12/7 and then moved on 12/20.  Life was too crazy for decorations.  So, this is our first year in a home, with a baby… I’m going nuts on the decorating and making it as homey as can be.  I had green garland from years ago, if I didn’t have so much of it I would have purchased pre-lit garland.  I then used red and white ornaments, mine are from Garden Ridge (purchased a long time ago).  Being that I’ve turned into the most neutral colored person in the world, I would have decorated in the grey, blue, white and silver family (to go with our home a little more).  I had sooooo much red, white, gold and color from our Holiday’s At The Condo, so I decided to save some $$$ and recycle.

Here’s what the staircase looked like pre-onaments.

We enjoyed lots of family snuggles and play time.  After Henry’s bedtime we ordered pizza, watched a movie and we were in bed by 10pm.

Lindsey Regan Thorne_Weekend Recap_08

Sunday, we got up and attacked some play time and more Christmas staircase decor.  My sister and her hubby came over for awhile and we ran some errands. Henry loves Garden Ridge.

Isn’t his outfit super cute (all on sale, except the shoes)!  But those socks and his baby TOM’s!  Little boys clothing isn’t so bad.

Henry and Daddy made a fire and grilled out on Sunday evening.

It was a wonderful weekend and I hope you had a great one as well!

random thoughts

Nov 14 2014

My totally random thoughts to end the work week!

First of all, I’ve blogged a million times this week!  It feels good to be back, who knows if anyone reads this, but it’s a great outlet!

Me + This Guy = TONIGHT!

Lindsey Date Night

Tonight, the ole hubby and I have a date night! Y’all, we’ve been away together from henry TWICE since having him.  The last time was for Hope’s wedding on May 31st and we were home by 9:30pm!  We’ve turned into some major homebodies, but our best friends (4 couples) live in the same neighborhood, so we get together at each others homes often.  That’s turned into our “night on the town”.  Our dear friends, The Lunsford’s have offered to watch the Hurricane.  Johnny and I are heading to Napa On Providence.  So, I took this weekend off a work (a long time ago).  We signed up and paid to run in the Thunder Road Half Marathon here in Charlotte.  It’s a race that we’ve been running together for years now.  Well, my extra fluff has gotten in the way (thanks to vino + pizza cravings), so we are spending the weekend in.  I’m begging the hubby to let me decorate for Christmas! 🙂

Hooked on This

Ok, so my bestie started selling Rodan + Fields and IS the skincare expert and goddess.  At first, I was a little iffy on the whole thing.  I love me some good skincare, but I thought they had to be purchased through a surgeon or dermatologists office to be any good.  Well, little did I know, R+F is in fact a medically grade line of products… developed by the founders who ARE dermatologists.  So, she got me hooked.  I’ve tried a lot of it AND love it.  I’ve noticed a HUGE change in my skin in just 2 short months.  I’m all about preserving the youth of my skin, so I’ll put my winter boot spending on hold, so that I can jump ahead of these wrinkles.  I’m currently using the Redefine line, but I’ve also used the Unblemish.  My latest purchase was the Micro-Dermabrasion Paste.  I tried a sample of it once and it literally changed my life.  I mean, I might trade in my hubby for this paste is if came down to it.   It’s $78 for the tub and it’s supposed to last up to 6 months.

If you’re interested in trying more, email or comment and I’ll put you in touch with my girl!  She’s what we call the WRINKLE WARRIOR!  Email:

Mom Guilt

Totally guilty of dropping Henry off at school at 9am this morning.

I went to Starbucks and came home to blog and now about to get ready for this ladies wedding that I’m beauitfying at 12:30pm today.  Tata ladies… I’m about to enjoy a hot shower, blowing out my hair and putting on my makeup without any interruptions! 🙂

Here’s the link to the lip color by MAC.
