The past 30 days proved to be very busy! I won’t bore you with a proper intro… we’ll just dive right in.
That’s right — I’m officially back at it! I’ve made a few changes to my health and fitness plan over the past month. No diets. I can’t diet, it scares me… so I’m just eating healthy.
#1 – pretty much 100% dairy and gluten free. I do cheat on the weekends. I save my vino for the weekend and keep it in check as well. This change is not a diet in my opinion, but a lifestyle change. It’s also easier on Henry’s tummy (thanks to mommy’s changes).
#2 – I joined a bootcamp. The same bootcamp that Lucy goes to in Huntersville. It’s amazing! In 4 days I love 4lbs. I’m going at 5:30 in the mornings… I’m also mixing in some Pilates, jogs and walks. It feels great to be active again!
It’s been hard for me to lose the baby weight. Ok, I know what you all are going to say… I just had a baby. I get that, but I’m also anxious to start feeling myself again. I gained 42lbs with pregnancy and loved every minute of it. I have 15lbs left to lose, so I’m giving it my all. I’m fine if I’m not at my slimmest and I’m a-ok if I’m not at my pre-pregnancy weight. I would just like to zip my old pants. Even if it’s for a millisecond.
That being said… I finally caved and purchased new pants. I refused to buy anything new until my old clothes fit again, but I couldn’t bear to put on maternity pants another time. Thankfully Gap was having 40% off. I purchased 3 pairs of jeans and 2 denim tops… pretty much my daily uniform.
Onto the house projects… still a work in progress. Moving into a brand-spanking new home… over the holidays… with a 2 week old! We’re still not even close to being 100% settled in. I start one project and before it’s finished, actually, before I’ve even considered finishing it, I’m onto something new. Grrrr.
We had this plank/ wood paneling/ bead-board (whatever you call it) ceiling installed. I’m in LOVE! Back in design school days, I designed a ceiling similar to this in one of my final projects. I’ve been in love ever since. It was a MUST when we moved in. Now, finding the perfect shade of “Charleston” blue to paint it. Also, a rug, window treatments and paint for the entire kitchen.
Next up… my love for Target. It’s always been “up” there, but it blossomed while pregnant. Browsing the isles of Tarjay made up for the lack of happy hours in my life. It then became my outlet when the little man arrived. I’m wild about everything in Target right now. Months ago I picked up these urns by Nate Berkus to store sweeteners, drink flavor packets, etc. Those moss balls are some of my favs too and only $20!
Spruced up the mantel thanks to Pottery Barn Kid’s. Love this glittery garland. Crazy what mommy-hood will do to you… all of a sudden I decorate for the holidays.
Crazy, but true… these are real-origional-made-just-for-me PAINTINGS — AND (get this!) for only ten bucks per water color. I’m an artwork lover… I appreciate paintings and studied fine art in and out of school. We needed to fill a wall in our living room, but we already have 2 large oil/ canvas paintings, so I decided to take a subtle approach with these simplistic watercolors.
Next up… finding a console table to go over these bad boys. The cowhide puffs are rather large and I’m having a hard time finding something long enough. Ideally, I’d love something lucite. Otherwise wrought iron or wood. Surprisingly I found a man on Ebay who makes custom lucite tables. I just want something simple that shows off these awesome BALLS! 😉
If y’all see anything that screams this side of the sofa… please SHARE! 🙂
I got to spend a few days during the month of March with one VERY SPECIAL bride-to-be! For those of you that don’t know her… you can get to know here better over here — >> her blog.
Henry is very fond of the lingerie section at Nordi’s and still loving my Solly wrap!
We haven’t taken the plunge yet… he’s still sleeping in our bedroom, in the pack-n-play… It’s just easier on all of us. His bedroom is upstairs and ours is downstairs… to be honest, at 4am we’re just lazy. I’m trying to get him acquainted with his crib and his nursery during the day. We hope to move him into his nursery after this weekend.
He’s pretty darn cute… if you ask me!
The sweetest moment. My hubby is one heck of a daddy. He’s one heck of a husband too. Since I’ve been getting up at 5:00am to head to bootcamp if Henry wakes before that he’s been getting up with him. He’s been so supportive of my new health kick. Isn’t it the truth that fitness makes you feel better?
Too cool for school. Hahaha! He was actually sleeping here during a lunch date.
Henry has a new buddy in town. One of my dearest gf’s (actually also a neighbor) just had a baby a month ago… Henry and James had their first play date and it was very successful. 😉
Happy! Just happy all the time.
Henry had his very first school pictures. We decided to keep his outfit traditional, being that this was a first. So, he busted out his best southern frock and shoes. This Friday we get to view his pictures.
I’m so excited for Easter this year… Last Easter we found out that I was pregnant. It was actually on Good Friday — March 31st. This Easter we will celebrate with a baby. Last Saturday we celebrated with our neighborhood… the worlds largest Easter Egg hunt. Ok, not really ‘worlds largest’, but pretty darn big. The Saturday before Easter our little circle is having another Easter Egg hunt for the kiddos.
Here’s a picture of Daddy and Henry after the Easter Egg hunt at our friends, The Lunsford’s.
Little objects around the office.
My home office studio is almost finished… I still have empty frames to fill and accessories to find. For those most part, it’s a dream to work in. Very functional.
Of course — my fabulous brides need a gold sparkly hanger to hang their veil on!
Life really can’t get any sweeter.
I’m beyond thankful and loving each and every moment with my family. I’m blessed with the BEST clients and vendors that I get to spend some of my days and weekends with. Life can be hard, there’s no doubt about it, but I try to put the hard times aside to focus on the good that’s right in front of me.
Lots of love… xo.
( ps… are these posts lame? Am I sharing too much? Should I do these more often? You know my ongoing battle about my blog and being too personal… but I feel like having this little outlet to share the joys in my life. )
