I’m officially back at work. A bittersweet feeling.
Here’s what’s been going on in the Thorne household… along with enough selfies to last me a lifetime. I literally just can’t stop taking my picture with my son. Then throw a FAMILY selfie in the mix and all fat girl tears are out the window. Pinch me. This little boy belongs to us!
Why not take a picture every.second.of.every.day?!
It feels good to be back doing what I love and what I’m passionate about (making ladies feel gorgeous). I love having that adult interaction, but I also miss my days with just my boy. In the days leading up to last Monday (my official day back at work), I spent so much time stealing his snuggles.
Just. Like. This.
The majority of my “maternity leave” was spent during the bitter cold months, so we didn’t venture out too often. Honestly, I could care less about running every errand under the sun. I really loved being cuddled up at home and snuggling during the crazy winter we’ve had. As life started to feel a little more normal, Henry and I would venture out between feeding and pumping sessions… malls, grocery stores, etc., BUT I always made time for Target. Henry loves Target. Mommy loves Target. Daddy hates the Target bills.
We took our first plane ride as a family! Which gave us every reason to selfie it up.
He was perfect! Didn’t cry once. I didn’t bring too many toys, but I did bring some finger puppets that we got from Carter’s . Worked perfect for entertainment!
One of my latest wardrobe accessories is my son. I love wearing my baby. I have from the minute he was born. This is a wrap that I got from Solly Baby… it’s one piece of fabric that you can twist and tie and it’s super comfortable. Plus, I love that it grows/ shrinks with your body and baby changes. I was using Baby K’tan when he was first born, but the bigger he got the more uncomfortable it got. It put too much pressure on my upper back and with Henry growing the wrap just got too tight. I’m so in love with my Solly!
My office is coming together and this chandy has a new home! This thing came in a million different pieces… but the hubby saved the day and assembled!
These right here…. u-g-h! Disgusting, but I eat them and I keep telling myself they are the reasoning for this lingering 20lbs! Those nuggets are lactation cookies <insert MOOOOOO>. I started making them around 8 weeks PP. They are terrible, but they work. They also help build a healthy stash. Mama’s let me know if you have any other tricks besides… oatmeal, Fenugreek, water, etc. I do it all!
Multitasking (pumping, blogging and baby watching) at it’s finest and the Bumbo is truly the best invention for a baby! Henry loves sitting upright, he’s what we call nosey. Those baby seats and bouncers did nothing… but make him hate life!
Since little man was born and even in the hospital we started listening to the “Rockabye Baby” station on Pandora. It actually calms him down, that and his Sleep Sheeps. Hubby and I kid around because we too, love this station as well… rock/ hits that are made into lullabies.
I never pegged myself as a “traditional” or “transitional” gal… but my hubby IS and over the past year ‘things’ changed me. I don’t know if it’s the baby, the move or now that I’m into my 30’s (dare I say 31). For the first time EVER, I’m putting together our front porch and in a very ‘not so mod’ way. We purchased black fans and an outdoor chandy that will hopefully go up in the next week or so. In the meantime here’s how we’re looking. Can’t wait to get some planters to flank the door.
He’s crazy, I tell ya!
Let’s end on a good note…
Henry would like ALL OF YOU to know that he’s VERY happy that spring is in our future. Tata winter mitties and hats!
