On The Go Beauty Must Haves

Jan 07 2013

Your beauty addict coming back at you!

This time… my favorite “on the go” must haves.

1. IllBeCa Cosmetic Case : Obsessed with this puppy!  Perfect portable POC to house all you fancy on the go beauty needs.

2. Jane Iredale Facial Blotting Paper w/ Case : I love anything that’s “cased”, for $10 this is the perfect travel blotting kit.  It seems like the cardboard little box that typically encases the cheap-o blotting papers that I purchase typically disintegrate  and crumble to shreds after a few months in my bag.  That’s why I did this case.

3.  Sephora Sculpting Kit : I actually use this as my touchup compact.  It has a powder, blush and bronzer.  Perfect for the in-between touchups.

4. Lipstick Queen Stain : Amaze!  Grab yourself one of these $20 tubes from Barney’s.

5. Dior Backstage Foundation Brush : This doesn’t just have to be used for “foundation” in fact that’s not what I use mine for.  Powder application, bronzing and blushing.  It’s perfect for building color, also I love it b/c makeup doesn’t hold on to the bush.  It’s perfect to wipe off with a dry towel in-between application.  Over the holidays they have a smaller version of this — perfect for the gal on the go!

6. IllBeCa Satchel : This has nothing to do with makeup trends, but it’s a pretty rock’n bag that coordinates with the makeup case.  I’m drooling over the cuteness and color of this beauty.

7. Roller Balls : I’m the queen of roller balls.  Mainly b/c it saves you from buying $100 bottle of perfume.  For $20-$25 you can try all sorts of fragrances AND carry them with you while your on the go.  Currently I have the Stella in my bag.  These are 3 of my favorite scents (Flowerbomb Jimmy Choo and Stella McCartney), I have the Jimmy in the regular size and have always loved it.

These stunning bridals are from one of my dear summer bides, Tania.  You probably recognize her gorgeous face from my facebook page and instagram.

Nathan Abplanalp is the artist… photographer behind these beautiful images.

For Tania’s makeup we played up a soft “bridal eye” with lashes and a thick line of liner.  Soft cheeks and iridescent lips.  Her hair was all about the sculpture, similar to her dress.  A statement.  Voila.

Charlotte, North Carolina sure does have some gorgeous spaces to shoot in.

Happy Friday!

You all know I’m a product junkie, so I thought it was fitting to kick off the new year with my fav beauty finds.

These are all items that I have in my personal makeup bag!

1. Rosebud Salve : This time of year, it’s important to keep that skin (and lips) hydrated.  It’s one of the first things I apply when I wake up and when I go to bed.  During the day, I’ll add some lip liner (typically half red) and then fill in with this lip balm.

2. Smash Box BB Cream : My absolute favorite.  I’m still using the same tube that I purchased in September, it goes a long way.  It’s an SPF, oil-controlling, facial primer.  Apply after your face lotion and before powder.  It’s wonderful.

3.  MAC Fluid Line : Well, I’ve tried my fair share of liquid, brush applied, liquid liners (from Bobby Brown to Laura Mercier).  My absolute, no-smudge, no drip goes to Fluid Line.  I apply with a slanted brush.

4. Make Up For Ever Lift Concealer : Seriously?  Have you tried this?  It won’t let you down… it’s eye firming, reduces puffiness AND it acts as a full coverage concealer.  Enough said.

5. Lorac Tantalizer Highlighter & Matte Bronzer Duo : I love this product, I apply the highlight above/ right at the cheekbone and the bronzer below and then infill with blush.

6. MAC Paint Pot : I always go back to this baby.  She’s a goodie.  I’ve tried lots of eye shadow primers and this it it, folks.  Seriously, keeps that shadow in place and enhances the colors beautifully.  I use color “paintery”… it goes well with any shadow combination.

7. Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes : Love this liner.  I apply this in my water line.  It’s the bomb and it’s long lasting.

8. Makeup Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation : Best powder – omg!  Full coverage, but it doesn’t enhance fine lines like some full coverage powders do.  Plus it’s just good for your skin.

9. Urban Decay Naked Palette : No need to ever own any other shadows, this does the trick!  I prefer the first palette over the second.

** I pulled the majority of these links from Sephora… I recommend going there or ULTA so that you can receive the free perks!  The more you spend the more perks! **
