Monthly Archives: October 2011

Oct 31 2011

On Thursday we headed two hours north and a tad bit west of Charlotte to the mountains. Where it is insanely gorgeous this time of year.

While I’ve been looking forward to this trip… it’s kind of been put on the back burner for me, and to be honest I didn’t give the trip all that much thought. Until the wee last minute. Typical. The months of September and October were crazy busy. Lots of traveling here, there and everywhere making pretties even prettier. As most of you know, my hub and I reside in an itty bitty condo which results in flipping the closets for the seasons. It flat out sucks! We have two storage units {don’t ask} and we use vacuum seal bags and tupperware bins to store our wardrobe.

Each season we have to drive to one of the storage units, scurry though the piles, take the the bins home, undo the bins, clean the clothes, dry clean the clothes, fold the clothes, {ommmmmmmgah this is why I want a house, kinda} and then figure out which crack and crevice to squirrel away our current season wardrobe. I forgot to mention that in the mix of doing all of that we have to go through our closet to organize, fold and then store away the out of season wardrobe…

Well, this years switching of the wardrobe didn’t start until Wednesday evening at 9pm. We were leaving Thursday morning and my mind was in full force relaxation mode. Not organization. So, naturally I relied on my other sources…

On Thursday morning {early}, I headed to TARGET half awake. I pondered the women’s section and $130 dollars later I left with 4 sweaters and two pairs of leggings. I’m head over flipping heels in l.o.v.e. with TARGET’s fall collection!

The tribal woven sweater was not available in my size so I settled on these two.

Yes, two of the same. CREAM and GREY colors {$29.99} and yes, something I will overwear this season.

Those weren’t my only purchases. I also left with THIS black poncho and two pairs of THESE leggings {$5}. They have a waist band that kept my food baby in check. I was pretty impressed. I also scored this burnt orange sweater that isn’t available online just yet. So…. while I was in Charleston for work last week I also picked up THAT leopard felt floppy hat and THOSE oxfords… which I love b/c they give me a little lift. Lately, I’ve also been drooling over THIS small messenger.
Mr. Hub + me! While I did bring some additional layers, I am sporting the grey sweater and my new leggings.

I’ll follow up with more pic’s from our trip later in the week. Happy Monday! xo.

The hub + me!

For the past five years we’ve escaped from the Halloween scene in Charlotte and nestled ourselves in the serene Blue Ridge Mountains.

It’s quite delightful, relaxing and endless fun.

We arrived yesterday and were expecting snow today and tomorrow. It’s been a morning of coffee, a.m. cocktails, bacon, puzzles and now the hot tub is calling our name.

Happy weekend friends.

Fall is in the air… and so is L.O.V.E.

Photogo, KRISTIN VINING took us all the way, deep into the country to photograph this session! I’m so happy she did but it’s was our one true “fall”, pumkin love’n, apple pickin session that we created!

A little bit of what the grogeous Amber is wearing… Tory Burch jeans + boots, Forever21 top, Burberry scarf. She’s dressed in head to toe fabulousness. For her hair, it’s all about those long blonde locks and soft curls. For her makeup… I used gold hues to bring out those ice blue eyes, a mauve lip color and voila!

He’s just as fabulous sporting a mixture of layers that just scrams FALL!

Makeup, Hair + Wardrobe Styling!

Once again… I LOVE MY JOB!

Beautiful couple, gorgeous location and insane photography by the fab KRISTIN VINING.

I had the pleasure of wardrobe styling, makeup + hair. Erin and I met at the mall and actually began pulling dresses in the BELK dress department. Her dress was one of those that looked hideous on the hanger but so adorable on her and that killer body of hers. Her boots…. I know y’all want a pair… we score in the FERGIE section, you can find the puppies HERE…. note: they are 5% off {LOL, at the 5%}. Her bag was an awesome find from ALDO.

For the Mr…. we let him wear his favorite custom suit. We kept him monochromatic and a little less “formal” look we left his grey collar shirt unbuttoned.

For her hair I used a smaller barrel and used my fingers to comb out. Her makeup… STUNNER, she seriously doesn’t need a lick of makeup. I just played up those adorable big eyes and used a mauve lipstick.

We had a fabulous time shooting this gorgeous couple in Charleston!

We selected a top that she already had and purchased a pair of VINTAGE straight leg jeans. Her oxford wedges were purchased from URBAN.

He’s sporting on good looking in a half zip cardigan with a sport coat over the top.

Together, they are delish!
