After a full week of being on my own I’ve learned one of the best parts is being able to wear what I want when I want. Yea, that’s pretty much awesome! 🙂 It almost feels like an entire new wardrobe, dipping into garments I haven’t seen in years. This skirt was purchased in Charleston back in 2006 at Bebe… I’ve worn it twice because it’s one of those items that I couldn’t wear to the old 9-5’er and I guess by the weekend I would forget about it.
I tried to dress it up AND down today… pairing it with pearls from Stella&Dot and a T from F21. A white T and jewelry is a perfect way to make a subtle, relaxed statement. For those gals craving a maxi skirt but work in corporate America and unsure they would get a ton of use out of it… try it with a tank {even a wife beater for a more understated look}, T or even a plaid collar shirt {cuffed + not ironed}! I could see this worn adorably with a pair of flops while perusing the locally grown produce at the fresh market.
Tips to wearing a skirt: I also hike it up, my personal opinion and preference for my body type. As most of you know I’m a fan of “cinching” my waste with a belt… I try to achieve the same look with a skirt by wearing it at the smallest area on my waste/torso. I tried to wear this skirt a lot lower and it gave it a totally different look.
Happy cinching! 😉
{What I’m Wearing} Skirt: Bebe, T: F21, Pearls: Stella&Dot {Shannon Vass}, Wedges: Dolce Vita, Watch: Michael Kors, Shade: Michael Kors, Shoulder Bag: Aldo, Hat: Urban Outfitters
{My Hair} I’ll be honest, I haven’t washed it in 3 days so it was time for a hat. I’m really trying to get better about not washing my hair everyday… this has always been the biggest struggle for me. I tend to be a little more oily and I work out every single day, and I’m not gonna lie… I sweat… a lot! Psssst has changed my life 😉 no really!
{My Makeup} I didn’t use blush today, just bronzer. My lip color is MAC “Pop Mode A20” it’s always a go to. My finger nail polish color is KNOLL RED {just for you Gingy}.
