Can we fall back to fall… please? Awww the crisp fall air unlike the un-breathable winter weather; I’d go back to the autumn leaves + pumpkin spice lattes at any moment in time! Now would be a great time as us Charlotteans brace the 20 degree weather!
Erica + Brandon, a soft spoken so in love couple that I had the absolute pleasure of pulling together wardrobe and a little makeup + hair action during a trip to the Blue Ridge Parkway! Photogo, Kristin Vining and myself ventured about 1.5 hours outside of Charlotte to the mountains where she captured these breathtaking images!
Let’s chat about the wardrobe, makeup + hair action…
They just reek love – don’t they? They even did during an evening of shopping and pulling wardrobe. Erica has a bod that resembles mine so dressing her was by far easy breezy; I know how to dress us “vertically challenged” gals! Right off the bat I wanted to elongate her body so we decided on this lovely shift from Anthro that actually resembles my grandmothers sofa from the 1970’s! I wanted to keep her upper body clean + simple, esp knowing that we HAD to layer her in an oversized Anthro scarf {since we are in the mountains}, so a simple “tissue” J.Crew turtleneck did just the trick. Again, elongating her bod I didn’t want to detract from the length that we were trying to achieve, so we selected to a monochromatic look with her tights. Her size 6 shoes are all hers! 😉 We finished her off my taking a micro mini belt to simply cinch her tiny waist. Her makeup I kept minimal, as you can see it doesn’t take too much! Just gave her extra vavoom with the lashes; of course! Her hair… she has lots of it, simple curled and gave her body and pulled it back away from her face. She’s such a small girl and with the layers around her neck and having her hair down was just too overpowering, so up it was!
For him… {isn’t he cute??} He was a struggle, I remember shopping with him and nothing fit, he had Inspector Gadget arms {and, not to mention he was like pro athlete in the tall department}! I just wanted him to be all fallness… and I think we literally treated J.Crew like a one stop shop for this fella! We decided on a greenish/grayish/brownish cord and then a plaid shirt and v-neck sweater combo and played a little peek-a-boo action with a brown wool tie. We finished him off with a rich chocolate brown cord sport coat. 100% handsomeness!

Both App State grads {it’s where they met} and total fans we thought it was appropriate to take it to the fields! We kept Erica’s ensemble playful, just like a little college girl trying to turn the boys heads. Jean skirt, cotton T, scarf and riding boots! Simple! We let her hair down for this look and pulled back the sides. For him; jeans all the way with a mustard v-neck and a red scarf – hey it ties in the popcorn!
The duo weds in May and I have the pleasure of doing some wardrobe styling for her bridal party!
Weddings and the City are the planners and I cannot wait to see what they have planned!
