About me! Who I am! What I do! 27 years old and still trying to figure that one out... With that said, I seem to ask myself the question daily, along with a lot of others, as it does get a bit confusing. Monday thru Friday I'm an Interior Designer for an AWESOME worldwide firm, {but I'm bias}... specializing in corporate interiors. After my wedding I realized how much I loved the wedding industry so I've also teamed up with the incredible ladies of Weddings and the City as a designer. BUT where my TRUE LOVE and PASSION lies is with my company that is blossoming... Lindsey Regan Thorne B E  P R E T T Y and that's what my blog is all about... being pretty! What I thrive off of is making individuals, wedding parties, couples, ladies + gents feel just flat out fabulous about themselves. I'm infatuated with textures, FASHION, layers, patterns, fabrics, accessories + accessories + accessories and piecing the most ridiculous garments together {affordably}  to make a piece of art! Waaaaalahhh! I love painting + hairspray... with that... I do makeup + hair! Always had a thing for makeup... sometimes wearing too much of it, but that's another story. I have a love for graphics and a bigger love for photography... and that's where it all comes together! Who are my clients? Typically those getting married... Below is a list of my services!

Engagement Styling: It's crazy the details that you put into your big day... the color of the linens to the font of the programs, every little detail counts but brides often don't have the energy or the time to put into details such as the theme, wardrobe, setting, props, makeup + hair that go into their engagement pictures. I have a solution... ME! That's where I can help YOU! I come in, I team up with the brides photographer, get to know  you, the bride + groom. We decide on a location and then the bride + groom + myself hit the closet and the mall. Shopping for the perfect wardrobe that fits the couples style. That compliments their body, their personality and each other.  I love to pull in props too! The day of the shoot I will show up on location to do makeup + hair. That's it, easy, fun and making memories... pretty memories!

Wedding Party Styling: Don't just stop with the tux and the dress for your bridesmaids + groomsmen... take the wardrobe to the next level! Again, that's where I can come into help coordinate and pull together a unique looks {affordably}.

Wedding Day + Bridal Portraits Makeup + Hair Styling: I'm also your girl... makeup + hair for you, the bride and your wedding party... my services are all on location; I will come to you!

In a nutshell, that's what I do! However, my number one love and priority is my husband! I love you JT!

WEDDING DAY MAKEUP + HAIR

I know we’re just the makeup + hair girls on wedding day… but, like most weddings, it’s pure eye candy  and we cannot help but publish this brides entire day.  The lovely Chrystal with our team was in full control of beautifying. Without further adieu, I’ll turn the mic to Miss Chrystal and the beautiful photography by THE SCHULTZES.

Hi Be Pretties, Chrystal here with the pleasure of introducing Julie!  Julie was a gorgeous, November bride photographed by the fabulous hubby and wifey due, THE SCHULTZES, hair & make-up by myself via Be Pretty.  An absolute beauty from her porcelain skin and red lips to her soft, classic up-do…. just radiant! LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE {TONIGHT!}

I wasn’t nervous at all… until about 5:00 o’clock last night when my GIRLFRIEND called me, just to say… are you nervous??? And, to let me know that she… “heard several people talking about it!”… by 5:05 yesterday evening I was sweating bullets and by 4:59 this morning I still couldn’t sleep.

If you missed my lil ANNOUNCEMENT, I’m a talk-back host for the opening night of LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE… and it’s tonight!  I really haven’t been worked up about it only because I’m not being called on stage until after the show ends.  Easy, breezy… right?  I figured my role would be like movie credits… the movie comes to an end, lights go on, credits roll and everyone exits the theatre.  Sweeeeeet!  I can do this!  Wrong!  Although the talk-backs begin directly after the show “ends”… there was a small segment that I didn’t exactly tune into… “Before you take the stage, there will be a short introduction for you and then your part of the show will begin!”  Eeekkkk!

I’m hoping that I don’t faint… or trip, gah.  I’ve been blessed with the tripping jean.  I pray that I don’t stutter because when I get nervous my words all slur in a-a-a-a-a jittery little way.  I hope that I don’t talk too much because sometimes that’s just natural to me.  I talk… too much!  I hope I can control the word “like” and “umm” and “awesome”.  <— That one, “awesome”, is an every other word’er in my smart vocab.  But, in the end I hope that I can inspire local female fashionistas and have good conversations!  I’m also incredibly thankful to have been given this opportunity. :)

What I might wear… ???  Cas but fun!  Typically, I wait until… humm… about 10 minutes before to figure out what I’m going to wear.  I’m proud of my ‘figuring things out in a timely manner’ kinda tude.

WEDDING DAY MAKEUP + HAIR

Happy Monday, friends!  Here’s one of our December brides that Chrystal and I had the pleasure of doing makeup and hair for… well, both m+h for the bride, her mother but only hair for the adorable bridesmaids.  What a fun day it was and what a sweet family they are!

The day was photographed by the hubby + wifey, ‘too cute for words’, duo ~ THE BEAUTIFUL MESS!  Last week, I enjoyed an afternoon at the Lanning’s, helping Candice with a “closet edit”.  I had fun getting to know them both a little better and I’m happy to admit that this stylish little couple can share clothes… that’s right!  Share!  Daniel has the! best! shoe and button up collection!  So naturally we introduced those into Candice’s wardrobe… well, we started with the shirts, next step is to get him to agree on a little borrowing of the shoes! :)

The dancers… the models will be wearing the latest high-fashion pieces from NEIMAN MARCUS’ hottest spring looks.  Fashion + dance benefiting NC DANCE THEATRE.  It’s an unbelievable blend of art where contemporary works are intermixed to the fashion show!  I can’t even begin to explain how much fun my girlfriends and I enjoyed last year.

Here’s the post from last year when I blogged the event… started with THIS one and then ended with the RECAP!  Oh my, do you ever look back on an outfit that you were wearing to simply say… “why!”  and how come my girlfriends didn’t stop me from walking out of the house in that number!  Whew!

MUSTARD + CHERRIES

SEQUINS AREN’T JUST FOR THE HOLIDAYS…

… and maxi’s aren’t just for the summer!

You’re about to tune into some ‘real life stuff’…

Three things about him <– the hub

First thing:  he sleeps with one ear plug, the left ear… and he has perfect hearing!?!?  Why am I so amused by this!?!?

Second thing:  he tucks his t-shirts into his jeans!  I swear, I’m not poking fun but I do think it’s cute… I think…

Third thing:  he takes 2-3 showers a day {he’s lucky if I take 1} and his last shower has to be 30 minutes before bed. Leaving enough time for a little boob-tube and a bowl of peanut butter captain crunch.  He will not eat his cereal before a shower.  I’ve begged him in the past.

Bonus round:  he likes to “fix” things around the place.  Like, the other day when he “thought” there was a problem with our front door lock.  He got his tools out, charged his ‘something or other’ and went to town… the next morning I left for the gym and went to lock the door to realize… he reversed the locking problem!  Door doesn’t lock, nope, just one push and your in.  Andddddddd…. on Monday he decided to breakdown the ‘ole blender and give her a cleaning.  Yesterday, I went to make my chocolate shake when right before my eyes it did the unbelievable and exploded… everywhere.  Chocolate everywhere… white walls… on top of the refrigerator… everywhere doesn’t even begin to explain it!  He’s not allowed to touch another tool or clean another gadget.

Sometimes he makes me lose sleep… but in a good way… a way {I guess} that always puts a smile on my face.

Last week I blogged about an upcoming GIRLS DAY.  Well it was on Saturday and beyond awesome!  Brandy {in my lingo she’s Beave}, gave us strict instructions : “show up at my house at 10:15 and wear yoga clothes + an extra sports bra… we’ll carpool”.  Ok, really, that’s all Beave?!  Yup…….. she didn’t give in and the thoughts that were going through our mind were priceless!  Seriously priceless!  We all followed her instuctions and arrived to her place on Saturday morning, we caravanned, and BAM – in yo face!  We arrived at SKY HIGH SPORTS where trampolines are limitless!  I can’t explain how awwwwwwesome it was!  The most fun I’ve had in a long time… two hours of pure bouncing!  We were like kids!  Best form of exercise that I’ve experience in quite some time too!  That’s always an advantage!  After we ventured to a fav spot for lunch where we sipped blood orange mimosas and ate way too much food.  It was the best day.  No really, the-best-day, with an EVER {in all caps} at the end!
